Really enjoyable episode
ethanjjacobs25 October 2021
After how bad the last episode was I was worried this one would be the same, but this episode was great, had a lot of main characters and a decent story, also a exciting final scene. I don't really get why so many people are hating on this episode, I actually really enjoyed the episode and think it was the the best of this season so far.

7.3/10.

Should've been the premiere
FilmBrat10526 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was an excellent episode. This may be biased because June is my favorite character, but I love seeing Jenna Elfman & Keith Carradine onscreen together. Both of them are incredibly brilliant and talented. I like the horror/creepy approach they took with this episode, especially since it's the episode closest to Halloween. I find it very interesting that June & John ended up with Victor, and I can already predict that John & Victor will not get along, which may even result in John's death. It had the same vibes of Andrea & Michonne first encountering the Governor. I hope this doesn't get June killed like it did to Andrea!

Fear The Hallucination Dead
latoyaoff25 October 2021
Hallucinating is such a common and generic theme in the Walking Dead franchise now that it's gotten over blown.

Instead of spending an entire episode with a man hallucinating, you could've spent more time allowing him & Jenna Elfman's character to finally decide to get out of their base and explore/see the world as well as have some good common dialogue, but no! Instead, it was more or less mostly hallucinating.

Another Missed Opportunity
amongpixels25 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
They could've made a great little contained story about June's grief over her husband's loss and John's regret at never saving any of Teddy's victims. The premise and ideas are all there, but the dialogue and visions scattered throughout just blatantly explain everything with no nuance or thought left to the viewer. Even June's characterisation is relegated to a few lines near the end of the episode with barely any focus. And the villains are plain stupid; they are set-up half way through the episode only to take ages to break inside (they don't even use the main door to break in either?), John and June have nearly zero agency about this (no sense of stakes), and then when one of them does get in, he just slowly walks around and takes ages to do anything? They don't even act like humans. Another disappointing missed opportunity here.

Now I know why the baby cried so hard in a previous episode!
ohmap-977-6648101 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The baby cried after reading the script!

This episode is not quite as bad as last week's baby "cry-a-thon", but just as stupid. I could understand - to a limited extend - why grace freaked out and screamed in desperation at a Roy Orbison's song playing on the cassette player as I have the same reaction when I hear Debbie Boone's "You Light up my Life", but come on...they need to write better scripts!

1. Give the horses gas masks! How could be horses be alive without protection? This makes no sense.

2. What is with Victor? Why does he want to become the leader?

3. Does victor want Alicia's putang all for himself? I don't blame him for pushing the guy off the roof (if that were the reason,) However, because the guy was so stupid, he deserved to be pushed from the roof (only this time Victor succeeded in killing him.)

I have no idea where this show is going!

Good acting, good premise, no budget, no plot progression.
frankiesilver-9183623 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was pretty damn good, may even top 7x01 for my favorite this season in certain ways.

The only reason I really say this is because John Sr. And June are just such lovable characters. I love Morgan (at least Season 6 Morgan) but I'm happy they're sticking to the anthology story-telling for now because I'd get sick of the story always being about him.

The radioactive fallout scenery is still so cool to see (despite it clearly being budget sets) and the hallucinations John was having were super freaky despite being pointless in the over-arching plot. Overall the cinematography and acting is amazing. Everyone is putting in their all into a weak script.

Strand taking them in was a cool twist. The stories definitely starting to come together and I can't wait to see how it all plays out between Morgan and Strand.

This season has yet to disappoint per se, but this hasn't been the quality of 6x01-6x03 either.

Time for this show to go along with the Parent show
mhorg201831 October 2021
Who's writing these mind numbingly dull scripts? Who's idea was it to have a miniature nuclear holocaust and then learn nothing about fallout and the dangers of radiation? Are we really supposed to care about a forty year old murder after that idiot Teddy launched nuclear missiles? Time for John to get killed off since he's a boring character who should have died instead of his son. To go back to the nuclear missiles-how did they realign them to fire off over America? And how come, since nuclear blasts are seen miles and miles away, no one in any of the other shows - especially the extremely badly done World Beyond, has any memory of these blasts? This show has gone from up and down to just down. This entire nuclear launch bit was really stupid.

Again everything is good but I dont Like how the series is becoming an Anthology
panamenito25 October 2021
I dont like how showrunners and writters are turning this wonderful series into an anthology. In Dave Ericson's times this used to be like a long movie split into episodes.

S7.E3 - Kinda Boring [6/10]
panagiotis199312 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
(S7. E3) My Reaction / Review for Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 3 ''Cindy Hawkings'': Episode 2 was ok and I gave it a rating of 6.5/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. Nice to see John and June. So they found the place that Teddy used to hurt all these women, interesting. So the whole episode is just John and June? I hope not. They are underground? They say they have food, what about water? What about a place to poop? And what do they do with the poop? I know that's silly questions but im just wondering. The suits that June is making are not even ready and John wears one and goes out? That's a really dumb decision. This episode is all about John's withdrawal symptoms. After decades John wants to solve this case and he is hallucinating because of the withdrawal, its sad. Nice to see Victor. So June and John are now with Victor? That's nice. Overall this episode is mediocre. My rating is 6/10.

There is no plot
buddybradley-226652 November 2021
Nuclear radiation, zombies and intense boredom. Not a combination that's easy to put together. They're using it to not only kill off the Walking Dead franchise but the whole genre. Dedicated to watching to the last episodes but dreading the experience. Like a zombie, the franchise is dead but still walking.

Dorie loses his mind, we ride a long.
jt-nutt25 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Once again all y'all hating on this episode and you have no reason to.

Loved this episode. Was great to see that June and Dorie who were doing quite well. I'd lose my damn mind in that place and well, that's what happens with Dorrie. I like the fact they touch on the effects of withdrawl for an alcoholic. Last episode dealt with Grace losing it mentally with the despair of a zombie ridden world after a nuke has been set off. The world was bad enough before the nuke now you have to deal with nuclear fallout. John dealing with his demons was really well done. The hallucinations were well done. They felt and looked real. Keith did a great job of acting the entire time. I also enjoyed the POV shots of his eyes. Dunno how they got the shot but it was really cool and added to the suspense. Have no idea who the people are that were trying to kill him and June but I'm guessing we'll find out. Also, love the fact that the end of the episode sets up for Victor and Morgan to finally meet.

The episode focus on character development, particularly for John Dorie Sr., who emerges as a more fleshed-out character grappling with guilt and seeking closure
fernandoschiavi29 April 2024
Over the course of several months, John Sr. And June establish a routine while waiting out the year that June has determined is the time that they must wait before it is safe to go outside. However, the bunker becomes increasingly unstable over time with a wall collapse smashing their supply of liquor and revealing a secret room where Teddy had killed and embalmed his victims in the 1970s. John goes into alcoholic withdrawal and experiences hallucinations as a result of Teddy's last victim, Cindy Hawkins, whose body John had never been able to find. John's hallucinations and guilt cause him to search for clues to the location of her body with disregard to anything else.

He emerges from the bunker due to Cindy calling to him and, after putting down a reanimated Dakota, finds the Stalkers watching him. The Stalkers demand that John and June surrender, while John realizes June has been lying the whole time about how long they must wait, afraid of facing the outside world without her husband. Briefly abandoning June to search for Cindy's body, John snaps out of it in time to kill the Stalkers and save June. The two subsequently discover Cindy's body in the bunker by accident, bringing John peace. The bunker collapses, but the two are rescued by Strand's Rangers and taken to the Tower. When Morgan arrives at the bunker, Strand contacts him on a radio. Morgan threatens to kill his former friend if Strand hurts anyone he cares about, but Strand is unmoved by his threats.

Season 7, Episode 3 of "Fear the Walking Dead," titled "Cindy Hawkins," dives deep into the backstory of June and John Dorie Sr. As they find refuge in an old, abandoned bunker that once belonged to serial killer Teddy. This episode adeptly intertwines the current apocalyptic struggles with the psychological ghosts of the past, setting a chilling tone from the outset.

The central plot revolves around June and John Dorie Sr. As they sift through the remnants of Teddy's bunker, uncovering artifacts that reveal more about Teddy's gruesome past, and importantly, the mysterious Cindy Hawkins. The bunker serves as a claustrophobic backdrop, enhancing the episode's tense and eerie atmosphere. As they delve deeper, they encounter physical and emotional traps left behind, which Teddy had set for his victims, metaphorically trapping June and John as well.

A particularly striking scene involves the discovery of Cindy Hawkins' belongings, leading to a cathartic moment for John Dorie Sr., who had been haunted by his failure to capture Teddy sooner in his career. This moment is both a narrative and emotional climax of the episode, as it confronts the theme of unresolved past trauma and the search for redemption. The episode does a commendable job portraying how past and present horrors can intertwine, mirroring the outside world's chaos within the confines of the bunker.

Cindy Hawkins" stands out in its season for its psychological depth and character development, particularly for John Dorie Sr., who emerges as a more fleshed-out character grappling with guilt and seeking closure. The cinematography and tight scripting keep viewers engaged, while the episode's pace maintains suspense and dread effectively. Overall, this episode is a strong entry in the series, offering a mix of psychological horror with poignant drama, and emphasizes that sometimes the ghosts of the past are as terrifying as the zombies outside.

Sad
alnical7772 November 2021
Sadly, this is the best episode of the season so far. It's time for Morgan and grace to go. They are both annoying and stupid. Victor has remembered that he wants to be king of the world so any episodes centric to him will be just as bad. I didn't particularly like this episode. It's just better than the first two. This really needs to be the last season.

more coherent than 2 before
christopherhq27 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was great. Maybe it will not fit for the ones who just want action, but it is well written. It is good to develop John Dorie Senior, his trauma towards the fact that he didn't solve completly the case. June who is scared about going outside is comprehensible and the relation between the two is touching.

Even if it's only for few minutes, but the ambiance outside is well done. I love the apocalypse in the apocalypse.

One default is again the end. Even if it's logical that a serial killer keeps a body in his secret place, it's really easy that they find Cindy like that. The part where they arrive to Victor is also easy and fast. But they try to justify with the radio, but it's like they had only 5 min left for 10 min of what they wanted to do.

The face to face on the radio between Morgan and Victor is great, but i don't fully understand why Victor is so agressive against Morgan.

Plz focus on main characters again
yunyy3 November 2021
He's a great actor I get that you want to write and give the episode for him. But in lines of FTWD storyline, I don't care about his story. This should've been webisode at best. Can you plz focus on main characters again? Really missing s1-3 style where we follow Clark family and the others around. Sorry Clark members wanted to exit the show. Is this why you don't want to focus on mains anymore? Or is it because you can only afford two good actors per episode ?????? Sorry for rude review. But really Not enjoying these sub character based episodes. And you even made June sub sub. Really ?

This is pointless
rmmil25 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
How can this possibly be rated so highly?

Bottom line, this episode is completely pointless.

Good thing the writers are wrapping up a cold case for John Dorie Sr, a character we barely knew / cared about until the end of the last season.

Why on EARTH am I supposed to care about some serial killer victim from decades ago when the entire world ended since then, most of the planet is dead, oh and btw it then got blown up by a nuclear bomb for good measure?? It's incredibly insulting to the intelligence of the viewers that such a plot line even exists.

How about trying to move the plot from last season, forward? Filler filler filler. All the episodes of FTWD that aren't a season finale are just filler now.

And then watching June miserably whine "I don't know what anything looks like anymore!" Just, sheesh. I hope the actress is able to escape like the guy who played Junior soon, because this can't be a fun show to work now.

Man of Science, Man of Faith - LOST Ripoff!!
lh_lostie4 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is a complete ripoff of LOST, S2, E1, Man of Science, Man of Faith. Desmond plays a Mama Cass record, Make Your own Kind of Music, makes breakfast and rides a stationary bike in an underground hatch he can't leave because of a perceived illness and electromagnetism outside. Demond puts on a hazmat suit to leave the underground hatch. People from outside try to break into the hatch. Desmond worries he has been infected. Kelvin Inman previously died in the hatch. People break into the hatch.

In this episode of FTWD, June and John play a The Mamas and the Papas record, All the Leaves are Brown, June makes breakfast, John rides a stationary bike and they both can't leave because of the zombie illness and the nuclear explosion radiation. John puts on a hazmat suit to leave the underground hatch. People from outside the hatch try to break into the hatch. June worries John was infected. Cindy Hawkins previously died in the hatch. People break into the hatch.

FTWD is becoming the vast, nuclear wasteland it is literally portraying onscreen. The entire Walking Dead franchise is just like the zombies: past their prime. This season is boring, pointless and a waste of time.

Back to Boring...Only 2 characters per Episode
hjsridge3 November 2021
Well I see by the past 2 episodes, the show is back to focusing on only a couple of characters. I figure they're on a tight budget with less people watching every season, but boring episodes will not revitalize the show.

I mean John and June in a small underground bunker, last week Morgan and Grace. Who Cares? What is the overall plot, storyline, and where is this show heading? You can't keep using Covid as an excuse year after year for these cheap "2 character" shows. There is a brand new show that recently began airing called "Ghosts" and it has like 8 major characters each week. You really can move a plotline with a lot of characters and except for 2 of them, the rest of their characters are dead also. The TWD universe is spread over 3 different shows and they all seem to be going nowhere.

What a waste of time
Smierdziuch_Paskudnik26 October 2021
The length of the review has to have a certain minimum, and so does the essence of an episode before viewer is forced to change a channel. Enough to sit for the duration of the show, not enough to enjoy it.

The first few minutes, the repetition of the daily routine was interesting, everything else but the last few minutes was rubbish.

It is even difficult to give a "spoiler", because the whole episode is rotten.

Another sleeping pill
antalks26 October 2021
Fear the walking dead season 6 was pretty good compared to season 4&5 but now when it comes to season 7 it became worse than before how pathetic writing and screenplay it dissapoints a TWD verse fan who waits every week for one episode and get one with a worse. So I have decided to watch it continue when the whole season is streamed so that I don't have to wait for some weekly sleeping pill.

SNOOZEFEST... I'm officially done with this show. Horrible episodes back to back that don't push the show on... I'm outta here.

Nobody cares about these character based episodes that do not carry on the point of the show.
