Did these high school cheerleaders really need to be so old in real life ? It takes the reality out of the whol moving they are like almost 30 years old and it shows they look old and I just can't watch this there are way to many people to cast to play these parts and these girls are about the age of the person playing the mother and then the guys seem a lot younger or way to old.like I said the old cheerleaders are very distracting and then they alway have the one main character of many lifetime movies playing the mom but really not playing the mom not paying attention or they don't know what's going on the same old thing over and over.

Warning: Spoilers
My Diary of Lies / Secret Diary of a Cheerleader

Just horrid. Everything in this movie is horrid: horrid acting, writing, directing, casting, dialogue, organization, plot (and lack thereof)......just HORRID.

So the Chem teacher was only selling the cheerleaders drugs but not sleeping with them (?) and Jake - the mystery villain revealed at the end when he suddenly turned psycho - apparently killed him with a bottle to the head? We don't know if the teacher lived because nothing was said about it after the scene in which it happened.

We also don't know Jake's motives for killing the cheerleaders. What was he doing that was wrong/illegal that the girls threatened to blackmail him about? The audience was led to believe the killer was the Chem teacher, but the twist at the end was that it was Jake.

And then he tried to kill the lead actress (the high school girl who looked around 12 or 13 years old) for some reason - whom he was supposedly interested in - but, OF COURSE, her mom (the horrid "actress" Laurie Fortier) got there in the split second nick of time to save her. Then he tried to kill HER. Then her daughter saved HER, all while the daughter's friend was flailing around in the midst of it.

WHAT a convoluted idiotic MESS.

I really wish I'd known that Lifetime accepted and paid good money for grade school-mentality scripts, because I would have certainly taken advantage of that and been a millionaire by now - churning out crap like this mess of a movie.

Grade F - 0/1 out of 10 (would be zero if possible)

The Mysterious World of Dr. Fabulous
lavatch6 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
One of our favorite actresses, Laurie "Lifetime" Fortier stars in this melodrama of an ongoing saga of deaths of cheerleaders at Hampton High School. Laurie plays Caroline, the devoted mom of Natalie, who becomes a new student at Hampton.

Unfortunately, the screenplay for "My Diary of Lies" (aka, "Secret Diary of a Cheerleader") was a stinker. The main problem was that, apart from Caroline, the characters were utterly repulsive.

Even the protagonist Natalie was not very likable. When given the opportunity, she starts popping pills, then lies to her mother about it. This was a crucial detail because Caroline made the move to L. A. to get away from her drug-addicted husband.

Natalie even has the temerity to steal the boyfriend of her co-captain on the soccer team. In the most cringeworthy scene of the film, Madison, who is in a drug-induced stupor, willingly hands off her boyfriend Jake to Natalie. Subsequently, Natalie will be in for the surprise of her life when the deranged Jake shows his true colors.

The various characters and situations were part and parcel of a routine thriller with a psychotic killer on the loose. But the scenes were so far-fetched that almost anyone could have been the perp. The oily chemistry teacher, Mr. Rexford, who was known to the students as "Dr. Fabulous" because he sold them drugs, was the most repellent of them all and the most likely suspect. The clueless principal had no idea on earth what was transpiring at her school.

In the end, the film reworked a tired formula without adding anything new. It may be a sad commentary to observe that the most memorable scenes from this potboiler were the skillful cheerleader routines and drills. The coach was clearly an accomplished dancer-athlete. But those scenes were not sufficient to sustain interest for ninety minutes.

Pretty Decent Mystery Thriller
flowerstardust19796 March 2023
I have a love/hate relationship with Lifetime movies in recent years. The acting is often embarrassing, the plot diabolic. This was a rare exception.

Secret Diary Of A Cheerleader, was well done for a Lifetime movie, the acting was pretty good too.

New girl at new high school joins Cheerleader squad just after an incident where one of the squad members dies at a party. She basically takes her place on the squad. A few weeks later, another Cheerleader is found dead. Is someone deliberately killing these girls? If so why? Is anyone next? If so who?

I was definitely into this teen mystery thriller, at times thinking to myself this is a little predictable, but as things further unfolded, turns out I was wrong.

It was well done in the sense that it actually wasn't predictable, and had a few twists and turns to keep me guessing until the end.

If you enjoy catty high school teen drama's, then this is a Lifetime movie that definitely ranks higher than a majority.

So VERY VERY bad, that it's quite good.

A killer is loose among a squad of hot high school cheerleaders. Unclear who this is made for, as the only topless actors are the two men, so maybe for teenage girls. But, the cheerleading is barely featured and is BAD and the murders! Oh, the murders. And DRUGS! It turns out that the ENTIRE blond cheer squad is on DRUGS. Maybe it was made for evil campy gay men.

A so good it's bad movie needs a few things. Reasonable production values so you can see and hear it and it looks like a serious film: check. Actors who look uncomfortable and out of place in EVERY scene and EVERY costume. Check. Bad bad overacting, check. VERY BAD WRITING, check. If you like bad movies, this ones for you!

Stupid!

Warning: Spoilers
Another Lifetime movie where all the characters were despiseable, even the main character Natalie. Basically she was a psycho, liar and had no qualms stealing her friend's boyfriend who happened to be the psycho killer who killed just to protect his precious scholarship!

Natalie's mom was useless and clueless. Who had no control over her lying daughter. Repeatedly she lied to her mom about taking drugs at the party!

All in all it was easy to hate every character! What was so stupid about the storyline was how the diary was stolen and exerpts from it were posted online and automatically they were linked to crazy Natalie!

Trust me you won't miss anything if you give this one a miss!
