This is a great anime with nice animation and unique style... Won't write much so no spoilers... The anime is following the source material very closely and not to mention the manga is very well written.

I would really recomend this anime and would like to see a season 2 confirmed, it is good isekai anime which all can watch.

Cliché done right
kwesib-3217924 June 2022
Nothing new was introduced in this anime. The plot read out like your typical isekai fantasy. Even with that, the show worked well. The pacing was well done. Personally, the main character had a certain charisma which made me have an interest in the show. The female characters are not trophies nor fan girls for the main character. They all serve a purpose. The plot was simple but I appreciate the effort made by the creator to make the arcs emotional and deep. The only issue I have was that, the show depended on the "humanity is evil" trope a little too much. The world setting of this anime is large and diverse. It should try and be a bit more unpredictable and innovative.

Enjoyable story
The-Last-Sith-Lord28 November 2022
It follows the generic isekai (parallel world) anime formula, a guy who used to play a lot games, someday wakes up in another world inside the body of the character that he used to play in the game. Despiting the generic premisses of the anime, the story overall was very enjoyable, the main character is very charismatic, you will enjoy his reactions and his relationship with his companions.

Personally the pilote episode and second one was the episodes which I enjoyed most, mainly because you can see some good action and know more about the main character.

The cons for me, without giving details to not spoil, is that after the third episode, the elf girl that joins the group start taking most of the fights, you won't see the main character fighting for a while after ep. 3, he ends becoming a supporter character only using his magic , which is a pity, to see the skeleton knight becoming a side character on his own story. And also after episode 3, mostly of the action is taken off-screen, usually the camera just moves to the top, showing the forest and the sky, and you just hear the sound of the action (the animation really gets cheap from here), you will only get to see the main character doing some cool moves by the end of the season. I wish the animators could had spent more time in animating the action scenes and cut a bit of the eating scenes (and there are a lot of eating scenes on this anime, the mc is a real gourmet, despite being a skeleton, seems all the animation resources to produce this series where placed in animating those scenes.. on all episodes you will see long eating scenes, you really get tired after awhile)

Finishing, I personally recommend this anime, despise the cons, the charisma of the main character alone already make it worth watching it, and the story itself is very entertaining.

Bland
Movi3DO26 June 2022
Isekai is one of the genres that don't really suit me. There are some supposedly great ones like Angel Beats or No Game No Life that I actually don't like. And Skeleton Knight in Another World certainly is not the anime that will get me like Isekai.

The animation was not the issue here. I actually think the anime looked pretty solid. It was kinda fun watching all the explosions and fights, which are the only thing that kept me from losing attention.

My biggest problems are the characters and story. Both components are so bland and boring. Each character is the too straightforward with almost no development. The main warrior is just too darn overpowered, making him even more boring than the rest.

I had some interest in the group's journey where they fought monsters. Besides that the story with the different kingdoms is again boring. It didn't have that much screen time, and I don't think they would be much of troubles against the main characters.

Overall, it's just not for me. 6-6.5/10.

Sink your teeth into this

Warning: Spoilers
In this anime, it follows the same basic premise of so many other isekai animes, starting with the mc waking up in a fantasy world, being OP, meeting with different kinds of girls, and fighting all kinds of monsters, nothing new to see here right? Well let me tell you this one actually entertained me, just right about when i thought i had enough of this type of anime premise. Arc is a young gamer who wakes up in a fantasy world that resembles the types of games he plays, so he is well aware of his own powers/skills, which makes him quite competent, and he enjoys his new surroundings, and charming enough he reacts to all the fantastical things around him like a real person would, even fanboying to a hilarious degree. Despite having a fancy set of armor, and all the powers he could ever want, he realizes he looks like a skeleton due to some vague curse, but he shakes this off immediately, but being self aware enough to keep his face hidden so as not to scare anyone. At first his only desire is to get money to pay for large meals to satisfy his large appetite, but he begins to put his new powers to better use. He goes on simple missions/mercenary jobs with relative ease, encountering an adorable fox spirit named ponta, who becomes his loyal companion. Unlike most anime MC's, arc has no qualms about killing or stealing money from the bandits or monsters he encounters, while this may seem heartless, the anime makes damn sure you know these villains are irredeemable and deserve their comeuppance. Eventually arc encounters a slaver's ring that takes sadistic pleasure in capturing and torturing their prisoners, especially elf girls. A dark elf warrior name Arianne encounters Arc while trying to free her kin, realizing his power can be useful, they team up together to free the captured elves and end the slave trade. On their mission they team up with a clan of ninjas that come with their own badass magical powers. The show keeps the story simple with arc and arianne fighting the slave trade and spending their nights eating together. The characters are all quite charming, and are very heroic without being too dumb, which is rare since most mc's have a rule against killing or exacting revenge. Arc is quite noble, playing the ideal hero he looks like, but he is still quite a goofball, deepening his voice, laughing maniacally, and fanboying over everything. Arianne is gorgeous but also a badass, she works on her own racism and mistrust against humans, with her partnership with Arc making her see humanity's positive traits. I just love seeing them together all the time, and despite considering them a battle couple, they don't seem to be romantic with each other yet. They do seem to be attracted to one another, but until Arc breaks his curse, i'm not sure if their relationship will get an upgrade, still I ship it. The worldbuilding is surprisingly done well, with the elf culture and fantasy world being explored, especially the food. Due to its premise with the slave trade, this anime can be quite dark at times, in fact the first episode starts off with an attempted rape, and that is certainly not the last one, there are also many moments of the slavers demeaning or humiliating the elfs girls, its actually shocking that this anime did not receive the same heat that fantasy anime like goblin slayer and rise of the shield hero got. Despite the dark moments, the anime is mostly lighthearted and the characters are mostly laid back, but the dark themes are always present. Like goblin slayer and other anime of its kind, i understand that the rape scenes and detestable villains are necessary to create a cathartic feeling once the villains are killed by the heroes, which is done satisfyingly in this anime. The action scenes are well animated, and sprinkled enough through the series so they are not overwhelming or underwhelming, action is used in a natural way for the story, with ARC displaying impressive magical abilities. I'm actually not a fan of super OP heroes being able to kill their opponents without much struggle, due to that being boring, but like i said the evil villains in this, make it so much more satisfying to watch, and your left feeling grateful that Arc has the power to stop them. Funny enough i was not going to give this anime a chance until I saw the opening theme song one day, Arc reminded me a lot of goblin slayer and overlord, and once i binged watched all 12 episodes in one night I noticed quickly the series possessed all of my favorite aspects from those anime as well, which made this anime truly captivating to me. If you're a fan of dark fantasy that can provide you with catharsis, then I recommend this one for you. But I suggest you have something to eat first, because the food in this anime will leave you salivating.

Just the kind of stuff I like.
trimmsthem13 June 2022
Here we have yet another cool show with action, laughs and adventure. I always liked shows with a similar vein akin to That Time I Got Reincarnated, Shield Hero and Goblin Slayer (though nobody got transported in GS). Action Adventure has always been my thing and this one settles in nicely with the other animes that fall in that category. I just started this one but thoroughly enjoyed watching the first 3 episodes. If you're like me and love action adventure isekai's, this one's for you. Unless you're an overly critical, close-minded type that takes things far too seriously that can't simply enjoy fun shows with some humor that expects things to be 1-sided in tone, run along. Please enjoy, it's really awesome!

Anime offers nothing new
nilsnomnom3 August 2022
Hello everybody just came to warn people who might give this anime a chance. It is not terrible but far from enjoying. The story is basic the setting has been done so many times as well and because of this nothing really stands out. The fights are basic. The voice of the main character is the best thing this anime has to offer. Most of the characters enemies and beast are basic and lame. Really have not enjoyed it and won't be watching season 2.

Beautiful anime
gonfreecs-7617428 March 2023
Love the armor and skeleton style with super magic! Super powers in another world is really amazing thats why a lot of people like this kind of thing! Beautiful images, drawings and voices! I think I even like the story so far for me is good. Would love to see more episodes of this anime please!

For me this is one of a kind anime that i am looking for and I think giving this a low rating is very unfair because anime lovers like me cannot wait to see the next episodes.

I dont why others gave this a low rating but I like it alot! Please continue this anime and create episodes like one piece with unlimited episodes every week! Thank you!

A great main character
londonelim24 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This anime is really interesting with the story telling and characters, I really love the designs of the characters especially the main character &. Ariane. The story of the anime is unique with it not following on how the main character got to the new world reincarnated but rather with the MC adventuring his new life after being reincarnated. I do wish they adventured on how he got reincarnated or had the MC worry/questions how they got there. But I really do like this anime and it really is unique and how it is put together, so please make sure you give it a try by giving it a watch! Hopefully it gets a second season!

Rubbish fantasy anime
ICueee9 August 2022
Plodding story and oversexualized characters. There is no need to hold the viewer's hand and explain every move performed by Arc. Dialogue is bloated and character's will often go on meaningless tangents stretching for minutes. The saving grace is the show's animation, but a stool with only one leg will fall apart in the end anyway.

Tonally inconsistent and abuses sexual violence
starsword-730-81822923 July 2023
This series fundamentally cannot decide what it's trying to be, which is highlighted by its abuse of sexual violence. Most of the time it's a goofy and upbeat action-adventure with Arc screwing around in an alternate world as a skeleton armored like a main battle tank, and picking up some strong and goofy companions.

But then we turn around and basically every villain is victimizing women to show how evil he is and then show how much of a badass Arc is when he swoops in and rescues them. I don't really have a problem with the use of sexual violence in fiction: tropes are tools. I have a big problem with fetishizing it, and this series is awful about that.

And then we turn around and it's off to the next goofy adventure: no stopping to even acknowledge the horror of what we just saw, it's random acts of fanservice committed against an extra, except when it's committed against Ariane instead. And the cycle repeats to the point of annoyance.
