Summaries

  • Spider goes undercover to expose a sex-slave racket operating off the Australian coast. Swain is forced to perform an emergency childbirth at sea when an illegal immigrant goes into early labour.
  • Kate becomes concerned about a boat which pleads asylum but which contains only one man and several women and feels they are destined for the illegal sex trade. On board they find a pregnant female in labour who Swain tries to save but she dies leaving him no option but to cut the baby from her - a boy. Mike orders that the boat be turned around despite Kate's objections. Later Kate chases up a lead left by the dead female's belongings and soon unearths an off-shore floating brothel which has the dead woman's sister amongst them held against their will.—Anonymous
  • The Hammersley crew is surprised that all but one seaman aboard a wrecked ship they rescue are young Asian females, none of which fills the legal criteria for asylum, which all demand. Only a pregnant one is kept aboard, but medical advice forces Swain to perform an emergency scalpel-birth, which only the baby survives. Shortly after, indications are found and followed on that they were all trapped in illegal sex, which is again practiced aboard a new floating brothel.—KGF Vissers
  • In episode three of Sea Patrol, the plight of a critically ill, pregnant woman presents a challenge to the medical skills and emotional stamina of several of the Hammersley crew. Yanlin (Hsiao Ling Tang) is one of a group of Asian women found when the patrol boat team boards a suspect fishing vessel.
  • Spider goes undercover to expose a sex-slave racket operating off the Australian coast. Swain is forced to perform an emergency childbirth at sea when an illegal immigrant goes into early labour. Also, Kate goes beyond the call of duty to unite a refugee baby with her missing family.
