Space Battleship Yamato Resurrection (2009)

Goofs

Space Battleship Yamato Resurrection

Edit

Factual errors

(at around 1 min) The navigator tells the captain that she has found the engine creating a black hole by finding the greatest source of energy emission in the black hole. She says it is about 300km from the black hole's center, "on the surface". Black holes don't emit energy - they have an event horizon within which even light cannot escape a black hole's gravity. Neither do black holes have a "surface".
(at around 1 min) A computer screen reads "Out of calculate". This is of course wrong English done by the film's Japanese creators. It should be "beyond calculation" or something similar.
(at around 40 mins) A spaceship lands on Earth. On its bow is written "Yuki" in Japanese hiragana, followed by "CARGO CARRIEER VESSEL EFCV-120478" written in English. "Carrieer" is an obvious misspelling of "Carrier". In a world where computers are commonplace, it's impossible to imagine that a middle-aged ship like this would have its name so prominently misspelled.
(at around 1 min) The Yamato launches probes into space. The probes' feedback is displayed on a computer screen. The screen reads "ANALYZING FROM PROVE SOURSE RESULTS". "Prove" should of course be spelled "probe", and "sourse" should be spelled "..ce", not "..se".
