Nice change

I loved the premise, another 'Sheldon obsesses about something to ridiculous levels, leading him to the top authority who he blows out' episodes. That would've been enough for me, the quintessential boy genius Sheldon plot. However this took a welcome turn. Sheldon shows some vulnerability. George picks him back up and then the typical mantra ensues - but that brief moment of vulnerability was extremely refreshing and George was supportive as always.

9/10 as the B plot was boring but the A plot, for the reasons mentioned above, was magnificent.

A step back from the last episodes.

Still a good episode, but it was a little boring. Not so great ideas, but in a way perfect for Sheldon. Something wass missing, though. If I have to give an exact rating for this episode I'd put 7.7!

Best episode in a long time

This was in so many ways a perfect episode. The father-son relationship of Sheldon was so endearing. It got to me the fact that even though Sheldon is so smug and arrogant, he still respects his father quite determinately. Missy and her poking fun at her mother with the fake curse words, and Mary getting so upset, her acting here was phenomenal. The two grandpas getting close on a not so comfortable subject, but necessary for their age (romantic couples colonoscopy lol). And the showdown between Sheldon and the IRS representative, styled as a chess match. Very enjoyable.

Perfection

Warning: Spoilers
One of the very best episodes of Young Sheldon.

The winking nod to the Queen's Gambit works on every level. The "chess match" between Sheldon (Iain Armitage) and the IRS auditor is brilliant, and the casting of the agent (Rob Brownstein) could not have been better.

Tightly written, skilfully directed, beautifully acted by all.

The tangential plot with Meemaw (Annie Potts) and Dale (Craig T Nelson) debating getting colonoscopies plays well against the main plot and pays off nicely in the denouement.

The subplot of Missy (Reagan Revord) irritating her mother (Zoe Perry) by cheating out swear words is a cute little add on.

Great episode

Wow loved the way two incredibly smart people battled it out - always enjoyable to watch Sheldon struggle but in the end come out on top. It makes his battles and ability seem even more outstanding.

The switching and weaving between different storylines helped slow down the action and make it more exciting.

Missy poking fun at her mother appears to occur a lot when younger kids learn curse words, and shows an element of her emotional intelligence to know what will get on her mothers nerves, and say them without actually doing anything wrong - a bypass of the system.

Overall it's a brilliant episode, and is one of my favourites so far.

Sheldon gets even more annoying. Good work writers.
Ghostcrow_Opin29 April 2021
From the start Sheldon was just a young version of the Grown Sheldon.

But the more episodes I watch the more I get annoyed because he don't have the intelligence to listen or respect his own parents. Why did he even Care about his mother when all he does is disrespecting her faith. And why does he care about his father when he again and again gets him in trouble..

As I said in the lasts episodes review, from the start this was a good show, but the more episodes I watch the more I see that the writers don't know what to do so they are sticking with a 11 yo boy who are really smart but acts like a 5 yo BRAT.

And there is nothing fun about that at all. If they would have written Young Sheldon better as it should be, I would still like this show as I did from the start, but the writers are getting lazier and lazier.

The show started good but has taken the down road

Warning: Spoilers
Seems a bit weird to make an audit for taxes look like a chess game exactly at the same time when Queen's gambit is the most popular show. Very low, bad episode.

Completely uninspired.

I have rarely seen such an uninspired episode. Looks like an anime filler.

young smartass.

It is just boring you know. Nothing makes this show special except the beautiful -sometimes boring- the big bang theory series, and there is nothing connects two shows either.
