It's back! Its roots are different though.

They're back! But there are things you need to know.

1st - the scale of the series has grown. Now they are in an adventure park with a linear plot to follow, which implies that it's more like an adventure story than a slice of life.

2nd - There are more side characters, and each one of them have an important role to play.

3rd - Sometimes the animation gets more stylish and experimental, which I loved, and I wish there were more of it.

I'm super glad they attempted to do sth different instead of copying its predecessor success, but it saddens me a bit that I couldn't feel that intimate and heartwarming feeling we once had with those few main characters inside a house. That animation communicated so well with kids and adults (I will never forget the snowmen episode), but here in general it's more childish.

With 2 or 3 exceptions, I couldn't get along with the side characters (they took too much time screen as well), and although the animation is still good, we can really see how complicated it was to animate all those peoples and elements in the park, which resulted in a some lifeless static scenes.

In conclusion, is it that show that in its 12 minutes created that cozy place and made us believe in the humanity again? No, but it's definitely a must-watch, especially if you were looking forward to watching more of these cute teddy bears, 'cause they will make you smile from ear to ear along these 8 episodes (although I think they could have been told in only 1 or 2).

Great sequel, as good as the original
sisubalan31 August 2022
This is kinda fun. Few new additional characters with great voice casting and storyline. Unlike rilakkuma & kaoru with softer tone & adult centric relatable storyline focusing on kaoru's daily struggle and adult life crisis, this one is much colorful and exciting as in the title of the series focuses on various characters within the theme park. Unlike the original, this sequel series happens within in a day all around the theme park, introducing new characters in every episodes with great storylines. Few characters like kaoru, tokio & hayate have been brought back in from the original and given more screen time. Personally i think this is much suited for children compared to the original appeals toward adult. Both series are good in their own way despite having different tone and mood setups. Hoping for more. Highly recommended.

RILAKKUMA'S THEME PARK ADVENTURE: A Fun Sequel Series

RILAKKUMA'S THEME PARK ADVENTURE: A Fun Sequel Series

RILAKKUMA'S THEME PARK ADVENTURE takes place almost entirely in a brightly colored amusement theme park filled with silly misadventures, fun rides, confusion, new characters and dreams of delicious food. Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, Kiiroitori, and Kaoru are all part of the fun.

"The series depicts an active day of incidents and meetings that take place when Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, Kiiroitori, and Kaoru go play in an amusement park that is about to close."

The stop motion in this series is really well done, like the original, and the setting are all really well designed. The story itself is less episodic than the first series. In the first series each episode was a different day, and was essentially much more "slice of life". In this series, the entire series ammount to one day spent in this amusement park, giving off a realistic different vibe than the original but still entertaining to be sure.

Great addition to the original

I would say overall that this show has its cute moments. It has amazing animation, the visuals are great, the plot is realistic and funny at parts, and the theme park adventure theme is very family friendly and cheery of a vibe. Each episode part had you clinging for more, and I was very pleased at the conclusion. I couldn't help but grin at so many moments, and laugh at others. I would say as others have, that this sequel does seem to be more centralized towards an appeal for children, however I believe it is still appropriate and entertaining for all age groups. Personally, I can't wait for more and would fully recommend this for others to watch.
