Nothing

Warning: Spoilers
I just felt nothing. I remember the action and fun of the first 2-3 seasons, then West-Allen happens and now it's all about love. I miss Iris West, before Iris West-Allen.

Finally Cecile gets in episode. Loved her and Barry being partners.

Also with the Chester walking in on them and the ending scene when they decided to have a baby. I just find it a bit awkward. Personally not a fan.

The show was amazing but it's getting harder to watch.

Mmmm...
Msnowwhy16 June 2021
I enjoy this show a lot, I've been a fan since day one. But it's getting harder and harder to stay interested in it. It feels like the show is more about all of the side characters than the flash. The flash spends most of his time helping people through their emotional drama then he does fighting crime or saving people. When you think about Berry doesn't save people until the world is about to end or meta pops up. But even he spends most of his time trying to save the meta. Let's get back to the bad guys that want to kill the flash or destroy the world. I see why the cast is slow-walking away.

A step in the correct direction.

Warning: Spoilers
Cecile is fantastic. It's not perfect, but I never mind other characters taking the lead in filler episodes as long as it doesn't come at the cost making Barry incompetent or dumb. Nicolet is fantastic in this episode and it was a nice step in a better direction for what's been a tough run... If you will.

Mindscape

Warning: Spoilers
It is fair to say that episode 13 aka the Cecile centric episode is the weakest of the season. It did have its flaws, but the good far outweighs the bad. I love the supporting characters on the show and was patiently waiting for some character-based episodes. I do wish however that it was spread out more. It feels a little clustered that there are three character-based and filler episodes in a row.

Danielle Nicolet really outdone herself and gave her best performance as Cecile/Psycho Pirate. It really proved her versatility as an actress and her acting range. The episode delved more into Cecile's heartbreaking and surprising backstory. I never pictured the character having extensive trouble with mental health. She always pegged me as rather flamboyant, aloof and optimistic. I feel like this episode would have been much better placed in May given that it is mental health awareness month.

I loved Chester in this episode. Cisco's absence is not really palpable with Chester being on Team Flash. Chester doubting himself and getting a pep talk from Iris seems like a rite of passage for new members of Team Flash. Sue Dearborn had no right to criticize his leadership and decision-making skills. She barely knows him and is not a regular Team Flash member. It was however great seeing Sue Dearborn again. It is a shame that the character can't really get her comic book storyline due to an actor's actions.

It was fun seeing Barry and Iris trying to conceive a baby. Chester's reaction was priceless. He should have really consulted Human Resources about this. Does Star Labs even have a Human Resources department?

I always wondered why Psycho Pirate never appeared in the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. He had a sizable role in the comic book. Nevertheless, I enjoyed seeing the Psycho Pirate mask again. I thought that the woman that Cecile saw in the mirror in episode 12 was a gender bent and post Crisis version of Psycho Pirate.

The ending revealed that Kristen Kramer is presumably working with Godspeed or some other villain. Episode 15 is titled "Enemy at the Gates" which will feature Godspeed and begin his storyline. I wonder if Godspeed is a recurring villain and will get defeated only in season 8.

To conclude, while I did enjoy this bottle type episode, I thought that the overall plot was rather weak and the resolution was not well executed. Overall it was a weird episode of the Flash. I feel like the Allegra centric episode is going to be much stronger. Allegra is one of my favorite supporting characters on the show and I cannot wait to see an episode dedicated to her.

Final verdict: 7.8/10.

This season seems to be on same level as Arrow season 6

But despite having huge comics material than Arrow.

It is getting way more worse than Arrow.

Not the flash show but the Iris & Team Flash show
jujuquimica16 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
They should change the name of the show from the Flash to The Iris & Team Flash. This was another episode where you don't see The Flash or the flash fighting. Instead, Iris and team flash alone is saving the day again and saving Barry's "ASOS". Plus, to make it worse, the story line is really boring and bad written. We are still waiting for a baddie and a proper story line for this season. Very dispiriting as use to like this series very much now I only watch it and there is nothing else to watch.

This episode was much better than I expected
masigl417922 August 2021
I think this episode did a great job on shining the light on mental health issues through the lense of Cecile.

[6.4] Iris the commando predator
cjonesas7 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Episode 13: A semi good episode with vibrant vibe and "horror" flow, all thanks to the adequate writing (in the writers' way!) and the good to very good characterization of the bad Cecile.

It finished nicely though and that's weak in my world.

By the way, welcome again to Iris world where she's everything others are not!

Warning: Spoilers
So Cecile is "trapped" and has been replaced by someone else for 2 weeks but no one knows it...this sounds familiar...like something we saw last season... then there's Cecile's psychic prison and a fight with her crazy doppelganger...so similar to the Painkiller story from Black Lightning...I think the hallway was even the same just painted white instead of darker colors.

Then bad cop comes to town and hates metas presumably because something bad happened to her team on a mission...again a tweak on the police chief and her motivations in the last season of Black Lightning.

Oh and how Caitlin KNEW the lightning was how the villain took over Cecile's mind, even though there was nothing up to that point that could have indicated anything of that (and explaining that "if we don't do something Barry could be stuck in a coma FOREVER!!!")

edit: AND I almost forgot the other mega bit of dumb writing. When Barry tells Cecile "I've seen portals like this before. That's our way out."...what kind of logic is that?

I hope every actor on this show finds better jobs because they all deserve it, but the writing on this show has become incredibly lazy.

No Cisco no Wells nothing to watch here
Seriously at this point Wells and Cisco left and it shows. Chester is ok but lacks dept. Besides that we are left with Iris, Cecile and random villains that nobody cares about. This is basically the wokeness show now. Avoid it. They should cancel it now. Flash is seasons 1-3 maybe 4-5 and thats it.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse.
Chris_P_Bacon0016 June 2021
"The Flash" was an ok show years ago but is a joke now. Please, enough is enough cancel this show already. Give the budget to HBO so they can create something better like "Superman & Lois". Then send the writers from this show to write Saturday morning cartoons.

Not perfect, but quite enjoyable
nf44am19 June 2021
I gotta admit that I wasn't expecting too much, but, even if the episode is not centered on Barry, it was awesome to know about Cecile's past (which now gives more sense to her powers).

If you don't like the show stop watching it, but don't give it bad ratings, this was an enjoyable episode, one of the bests of the season, I'd say.

We no longer have Cisco or Wells, so we have to get used to see more the other characters; learning a little bit more bout them is nothing bad.

However, as I said, it wasn't perfect. Specially cause I'm still waiting for Godspeed to show up... is he gonna be appearing for like 4 episodes? Hope that's enough for the big-bad.

It gradually went from THE FLASH to THE TRASH
Typewriter160117 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Utter Trash

First , Barry says he couldn't use his powers in the white space then in the end runs them out of there . (With many other inconsistencies I am not pointing out)

Chester is no Cisco but is well okay.

The only good characters left, Barry Allen and Joe West didnt get much screen time as usual.

Sue was, Well she was good but without Ralph she is useless to the whole arc.

Cecile (mind controlled version ) why make her wear leather. ?

Do Something please.

I only gave it a 4 because of the powerful Cecile, Chester and Iris moments at the end other than that I was falling asleep. Not even Sue could save this for me.

Another waste of time...
alekozz18 June 2021
All you people at CW... Are you nuts?!? It's literally impossible to screw a DC based TV series having tons of source material from the comic books...

Seriously it takes a lot of effort to achieve what you are doing with all your shows except Superman & Lois... yet!

Out of respect to the Arrowverse, either change it or end it!

Weird episode
rabbit_mini17 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Never a fan of Chester but Cisco balanced him out, now Cisco is gone and I found Chester quite unbearable. It really doesnt seem that he's worthy enough to be there. That awkward smile from Caitlin seeing him dancing is probably genuine.

The plots are very incoherent in just a single episode and I cant be bother to list them. Barry and Iris doing it in the storage room?? Weird scary scene from Cecil? Is this where the show is headed?? An adult and darker theme? If so then at least please do it better!

The Mask.
wetmars18 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It is gonna feel different without Wells and Cisco, now. Chester has great taste in music, not going to lie. His moves are radical, even moonwalk! Cool-cool-cool. Seems like we're going to have some drugs in this one. Experimental elements, I assume. Barry passes out because of the weird stuff that has happened to Cecil. He is brought to the Medical Bay. Chester advises her to sense what's going on with Barry's mind. Cold, madness, golden mask. This is giving me some The Masque of Mandragora and SCP-035 vibes! Gotta love them Arkham Asylum references. I wonder what Batwoman is doing now. They re-casted an actor again! The Team investigates what's been going on. Cecil suggests that there might be a mask in some museum. In the mindscape, Cecil explains to Barry what she remembered his last recounts. A-102, what could this mean? Barry doesn't have his powers. Are they ripping off Lok- I am just kidding. The door opens. The two exit the room. Oh dear, we have a new member of Team Flash. Oh, for Christ's sake. The new member explains the details behind the museum and security. Chester and Iris work together helping out the new teammate. Cecil now joins in the run. Recovery Ward 3A, what else could this mean? Barry and Cecil discover a hole, but it disappears showing a woman in distress. It is revealed to be Cecil, and yet again, Barry passes out. The Security Guard checks in just in case of any security breach. Cecil controls his mind. The new teammate tranquilized the Security Guard. Cecil grabs the mask and puts it on, ugh. She forces the new teammate to tranquilize herself and messes up with Chester and Iris' minds. The new teammate is taken to the Medical Bay, and recovers. The team explains to her what's going on behind Cecil. Barry wakes up again in the mindscape. Cecil explains her backstory in the mindscape. Barry convinces her about escaping the mindscape by not being scared, and confront her past. Barry finally gets his powers back.

Chester realizes that the mask goes on a host to host, but it is staying attached to her since she is a strong host. She eventually finds the Thinker's chair. Barry is experiencing complete brain-dead. Chester purposes an idea on how to save Barry's life. Cecil has possession of the Thinker's chair. Iris uses some fun against Cecil. I am liking her badassery. Cecil spots Iris, she surrenders. Cecil tries to fight back the dreamscape Cecil. Chester jumps out and used a chair on the Thinker's chair, another badassery moment! Barry rushes Cecil back to the portal and recovers. West confronts Cecil, another moment where I like, so motivational.

Thoughts?

One of those weird wacky episodes, huh? Of course, there are good performances, but this episode isn't for me. I do like how they're directing Chester to not be the new Cisco, that's lame, and how Iris confronts him. I like that scene. What I don't like about this one is how crazy and unnatural the Mindscape Cecil is. The voice ruins it more. I get what the writers were heading, but the execution is meh, and the new teammate, I am not buying her.

5/10, still decent.

aidospike20 June 2021
The shows problem is im not hooked so im not exited about the new episodes that come out. Like seasons 1-3 and 6 and start of s7 they got me hooked. This doesn't.

Another problem is the flash needs to use his speed. Iris can get her own show yeh thats it.

No longer the superhero genre, should be re-titled to "The Farce"
gareth-7544217 June 2021
I for one get fed up of the same old jargon "if you don't like it don't watch it", I personally love this genre & contrary to so many saying its overdone, that the TV & film industry is flooded with it when the actual truth is that it isnt, within the TV industry the amount of shows within this genre is minimal.

This show in particular has been in decline since season 3 because rather than stay true to the title character & produce a decent well written show that would gain genuine fans the producers chose to go the easy route of flooding the show with established fan favourite celeb actors, thereby gaining an instant audience of sheep tuning in to gush at the idiotic antics of their favourite celeb, it's become nothing more than a by the numbers box ticker, I still watch in hope that someone, at least once, will write a story where the Flash is actually the hero, I'm still waiting, in this episode Barry doesn't even put the suit on, barely uses any of his powers & the villain of the episode is a gold mask locked in a vault, absolutely ridiculous.

I like many was a fan of the Flash long before this show even began & to see this show represent this hero so poorly is a gut punch for a fan like myself.

This episode began with 2 comedy sketches, & I use "comedy" very loosely, childish or infantile would be more descriptive, again more celebs trying to be comedic but instead are nothing more than farcical, which then led into yet another nothing story just to showcase one of the all too many "fan" favourite celeb character's with a pointless background story.

So yes I for one will keep tuning in to this show in the hope that there will finally be an episode that is actually a story where the title character is actually the central hero of said story & until then I will keep giving negative feedback for these cretinous episodes, the only upside to this episode was the addition of Natalie Dreyfuss as Sue Dear on.

Sadly "The Flash" has become nothing more than a childish soap opera sitcom written & produced by morons that have little to no clue of how this genre should be handled.

Offensive
heatherahburn10 March 2022
I found the treatment of mental health in this episode wildly offensive. It was written like an after school PSA but it missed the mark in every way. I appreciated the conversations it was trying to start but I think it's depiction of mental health was stigmatizing more than compassionate.

The lack of Iris was again another drag on this episode. Earlier in the season she was going to therapy groups to deal with her trauma and that was a development I was very happy to see. Since then, nothing has been done with that. You would think that would be relevant to an episode dealing with Black women and mental health.

Another episode that didn't stick the landing in a season with a lot of duds. I also can't shake how Barry and Iris are beginning to feel like side characters in their own show. This season is lacking a clear direction and it shows.
