Not for me. Great concept, poor execution.
sisubalan4 December 2022
It is just not funny, awfully written and the animation style made it worst. Awful dialogues/lines although i do like the idea of making small things, toys or foods into robot unlike the classic traditional transformers machine, dinosour, rvehicle, etc. Great concept, poor execution. As if their main idea is solely to sell the toys instead of making a good entertaining story. Sorry to say, almost entire line of voice casts were terrible. Maybe because of the odd choice characters design and animation style that didnt match the voices. Its more like comedic, very little dose of action and adventure. Scifi maybe just a tiny bit. I dont know how to explain, just awful an experience. Not recommended.

Meh

Love the subtle "don't argue with science or you're insane" schtick. The crazy inconsiderate bots are those who mock data and treat their opinions like the real facts. Obvious dig in my opinion...it's a climate change alarm episode.

Good Series That's More Than Meets The Eye For The Franchise
jeremycrimsonfox28 March 2022
Transformers has always had a few oddities in the series, from the Action Masters (Transformers that do not transform) to the Animorphs toyline. BotBots is one of them, as this has tiny robots capable of transforming into objects the like of Optimus Prime and Megatron would never transform into, like a hamburger, hot dog, or even a plunger or deoderant stick.

In this series, after Energon struck a local mall, some of the stuff inside become robots in disguise, divided into squads, but instead of battling each other like the Autobots and Decepticons do, they prefer to party all night while avoiding detection by Dave, the mall's security guard. This series chronicles the story of Burgertron, a member of the Hunger Hubs, who one day, finds himself in the Lost and Found, and is now considered a Lost Bot alongside Dimlit, Kikmee, Bonz-Eye, and Clogstopper, as they try to find the tribes they truly belong in, but are stopped by mean robots, especially Burgertron's so-called best bro, Spud Muffin, who labels the group as outcasts due to them breaking the rule of being seen by Dave.

So, yeah, this series is more of a comedy in the vein of shows like Teen Titans Go!, as each episode is a slice of life-type adventure where Burgertron and the Lost Bots get into misadventures trying to fit in (be it making videos or rescuing another BotBot). There is some mean-spiritedness in this, especially from Spud Muffin, who wants to see the BotBots banished (and has more sinister motives I won't spoil), but it is still a good series with tales of friendship and misadventures. Plus, the voice acting is good (Spud Muffin has the same VA as Metabee from Medabots).

Uhhhh?

This has nothing to do with Transformers. "Burgertron"!? GTFO I understand this is for kids, but it should at least contain actual Transformer characters.

Silly fun, if not a bit mean-spirited
erikacacchione-5114227 March 2022
I'm happy to see a 2D-animated Transformers show again, its been a while. Botbots is a fun silly time, with good animation and expressive characters. Voice acting is also pretty top-notch, James Hartnett does a fantastic job portraying ego-centric Burgertron.

The character designs, although having to be different from their toy counterparts for ease of animation are all solid and memorable. Dimlit was a favorite of mine.

The only real gripe I have with the show is that despite being rated TV-Y7 Botbots is surprisingly mean-spirited. Within the first episode the main cast is shunned and made fun of for the rest of the season (up to the last episode!) by the other bots in the mall for a simple mistake. The Lost bots make it their goal to be accepted by those who have done nothing but talk bad about them and be overall horrible. It was just frustrating to watch happen in nearly every episode.

Still, overall, Botbots is a cute little show to watch in an afternoon or two.

Great show for kids 10 and u see and brings back nostalgia of being a child of the 80's. My 2 daughters have a few of the toys. I hope with the release of the series they bring them back to target store. Great cliff hanger for end of season. Kids and I can't wait for season 2.

Transformers Are Back Like You've Never Seen Them -- Smaller Robots Than Usual, But They Are More Than What Meets The Eye
rannynm22 April 2022
A cheeseburger, soccer ball, flashlight and even a plunger ... the Transformers are back like you've never seen them! They may be smaller robots than what we usually see, but these bots are still more than what meets the eye in the upcoming new series, Transformers: BotBots, named and based off the toy line of the same name. You'll enjoy relatable characters, hilarious adventures and great friendships in the first comedy in the Transformers franchise.

Transformers: BotBots follows everyday objects that turn into mini robots at night after a substance called Energon hits the mall. Things get interesting when "The Lost Bots" from the lost and found section of the mall run into the mall guard as they strive to get back into their original squads. Will they be able to prove that they are worthy of being part of their original groups or will they stay lost forever?

Burgertron (James Harnett) is the main protagonist of the Netflix series Transformers: Botbots. He is a burger transformer, the former leader of the Food Court Squad and leader of the "Lost Bots." The rest of the "Lost Bot" team are Kikmee the soccer ball (Lisa Norton), Dimlit the flashlight (Deven Christian Mack), Cloggstopper the plunger (Christian Potenza and Bonz-eye the Bonsai plant (Louisa Zhu). Most of the adventures take place as the "Lost Bots" try to avoid the flesh being, Dave the Mall Guard (Mark Little). I love how, throughout the entire series, each episode is a new adventure and picks up where the previous one left off -- almost like a movie. One of my favorite characters is Bonz-eye because she is fierce, carries a cool Katana and is the perfect representation of girl empowerment. The series is really funny, especially when Bonz-eye tries to slingshot Burgertron to save another bot and does it with enough force to cause his toppings to spill out.

Transformers: BotBots is about not focusing so much on the negative or changes that happen in your life. The "Lost Bots" were so focused on reconnecting with their original squads that they forgot to take time to appreciate the new friendships they had with each other. Sometimes you just have to stop and enjoy what life gives you.

I give Transformers: BotBots 5 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 8 to 13, plus adults. It really has something for everyone, and you can stream it now on Netflix. By Tiana S., KIDS FIRST!

Please season 2

Such a funny and silly show. Tiny transformers who likes parties and having a great moment is so cute. I've never expected that this show could be so good

The animation, characters, writing,..everthing is amazing! Also with the 2D & 3D mixed animation + stock photos makes it a unique and most interesting Transformers series.

It teaches the kids so many good things( true friendship, protecting the environment, not to give up...,) wich is very importand for a kids show. The voice actors did also a great job.

My favourite characters are Burgertron and Bonz-Eye.

This show deserves a second season.

Soooo cute
LUCYGALAXYUS202318 May 2023
I love it! These little robots are adorable and funny!! I don't know why Netflix takes so long to release the second season!

My favorite character is frostferatu, he is a secondary character but they really knew how to give him good moments. The design of it is very cute. He is quite a drama queen. To think that his name is inspired by Nosferatu, his design resembles that of bela lugoshi's dracula.

For a children's series, it has a linear plot but without abandoning comedy.

The ending is really a whole plot twist.

This is already a personal opinion but I would have liked a big transformers to appear.

It only remains to wait.
