"The Lake that Disappeared" is a short documentary about the draining of a massive lake in British Columbia, BC back in 1920's. The draining primarily displaced the Semath peoples, but also affected the hunting and community relationships between the Semath, Chilliwack, Nooksack and Kwe'wit'lem. Colonial explorers drained this lake and removed the native plants in this large region to farm foreign food and feed non native livestock. To this day half a million dollars a year goes into keeping the lake drained for farm land. If the Barrowtown pumps failed the lake would flood the area again in less than 72 hours.
