Poor Maggie's friend is bad news!

Meh, it was OK. Maggie starts attending a new school and meets Laurel, who has a shady reputation but they have instant chemistry and she ends grooming Maggie to be part of her strange nightlife. The movie was similar to other Lifetime movies. Skip it!

Victims? Or Warrior Women?

Warning: Spoilers
There is an especially important revelation in this film when the protagonist, Maggie Andrew, confesses that Laurel, who has essentially played the role of procurer in recruiting Maggie into an escort service, is her best friend ever! Wow!

Early in he film, Maggie's classmate Bridget took her aside and warned her about the bad influence of Laurel whose former best friend, Grace Martin, wound up dead. But Maggie doesn't heed Bridget's advice.

The naive Maggie was also slow in figuring out that the Club West Quarter is the gathering place for an escort service and that Dan is the head pimp. Once again, Maggie is sluggish in getting a read on the situation that may endanger both her and her mother Kate.

There were moments that nearly turned into farce with the scurrying about in the Rock Grove Hotel. But the film's denouement offered a grand reunion of the major characters at Kate's bakery "Nana's Best Cookie Jar." That scene serves as a curtain call for the victims who have been transformed into warrior women.

This one has FOUR titles

I saw it as 'My Best Friend's Secret Life' but it has three other titles including 'My Escort Best Friend's.

The usual plethora of plot holes, trope-y juvenile dialogue, and incompetent acting that make up most Lifetime flicks. This is the second recently-made LMN flick in which Nicolette Langley's character's name is Maggie (Lifetime really needs a book of names since they use the same ones over and over ad nauseum). Her acting ability is still barely above that of someone who's been in a coma for ten years - she rarely reacts or responds to anything...just in her usual daze.

Overly-contrived: the bakery partner taking so many selfies til the villain finally noticed she was intentionally taking pics of him. Wouldn't one or two have been enough?

But the stupidest part had to be the 16-year-old high school sophomore snapping at her mother: "I'm here at Club West Quarter and I'm FINE!"

Good grief, Lifetime.....

Grade F - 1 out of 10.

The ending is stupid!

Warning: Spoilers
I know this is only a movie and a TV one at that, but still it does reflect some realities of life. At the same time it saddens and infuriates me how young girls so easily fall in the trap of garbage exploiters and traffickers. It is up to the parents to make their teenagers aware of the dangers that there are out there, just as they always tell their children don't talk to strangers or do not get into strangers cars etc. Education begins at home, period! Laurel through her own choosing fell into the trap of the exploiters and became a recruiter. Maggie kept yammering on that Laurel was the best friend she ever had. Umm in the beginning of the movie it is established that the story takes place over a three week period. How can one determine who is a best friend within that short span of time,

Let's see, then we have Bridget who approaches Maggie and warns her about Laurel and tells her about another girl's disappearance, and dum-backside Maggie says I don't even know you but Laurel is my friend, and I loved Bridget's response, "you've only just met". Considering this so-called best friend has been nothing but trouble to Maggie, her mother and her mother's business partner from day one. This was the most stupid aspect of the movie in my opinion, a pathetic excuse. As seen in the movie she put herself in a position where she had no way out. Also I do not think Maggie or her mom should have welcomed Laurel back into their lives with open arms after what they went through themselves. Also let's not forget poor Kurt who was almost killed no thanks to Laurel "Maggie's best friend".

One more thing, on what planet do women undress provocatively in front of half open curtains? Oh I know! On planet LMN (shaking head). Also as in typical LMN garbages, Amiee continues to click selfies, until Dan notices her and follows her back to the bakery and beats the crap out of her. Whereas just a couple of selfies while no one was looking would have sufficed. (shaking head again and face palming)

Whoever wrote the story and the script should never ever get another job in Hollywood!
