Florist Maxine has a secret, one that she can only share with her best friend, Maxine is having an affair with a man she met at work, Luke, who tries to hide it from his bossy wife Helen.
There's a good pedigree here, Carla Lane and Gareth Gwenlan were behind it, and it was fronted up by Felicity Kendall, as such my expectation were very high, first episode down, my opinion was that it was .....ok.
Carla Lane definitely repeated themes, watching it, I had the idea of of Nelly and Freddy Boswell, with Lilo Lil in the background.
The trouble here, is that it was quite hard to connect with any of the characters, maybe it was the way that they were introduced, or written, but it was all just a bit flat.
I thought that most of the laughs (there weren't many) came from Jane Asher, Helen was amusing, but a typical 'awkward wife' from 1980's sitcom land.
I'll persevere, because I can see some mileage in it, but the first episode, was so so.
5/10.
