The Bob Hope Christmas special is worth a look
tavm22 December 2017
This was another of Bob Hope's Christmas specials he did annually. His monologue was mainly about Pres.-elect Richard Nixon and hijackings above Cuba. There's a series of sketches called "Mission: Ridiculous" in which Hope plays Agent Jim Phelps who's trying to rescue Santa Claus. Janet Leigh is one of the enemy spies who tries to seduce Hope. There are a couple of singers guesting on the show but the only one I recognized was Glen Campbell. He sings one song before pluging his next appearance on "The Hollywood Palace" with Bing Crosby. That was an odd moment since he was on an NBC show mentioning of his next guesting stint on an ABC show in a couple of days! Oh, also former Hope regular Jerry Colonna appears as a judge. This show was pretty amusing much of the time and had some nice musical numbers in spots. So I say this Bob Hope special is worth a look. It's on YouTube. Oh, also there were commercials for Chrysler cars including one with The Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote.
