The Depression was sure depressing!
"After the Crash" is an installment from season 3 of "The American Experience"...an incredibly well made and long-running PBS documentary series.
The topic of the show is about the after effects of the Depression. While it never talks about WHY there was a depression, it instead focuses on the effects on many Americans. Starvation, riots, the Bonus March and many other social upheavals are explored in the episode and this focus tended to humanize the victims of this economic crash.
Unlike most later installments of "The American Experience", the early ones tended to have more interviews with normal folks instead of experts as well as providing an introduction by the great writer, David McCullough.
Overall, exceptionally well made, educational and worth seeing.
