the voice of young generations

The film covers the initial three years (2018, 2019, 2020) of Greta Thunberg's activism. It's understandably quite celebratory because if we rewind to 2017, the student climate movement was still in its infancy compared to the robust presence it has today, despite its historical roots. Greta played a pivotal role in the establishment of several major global organizations, including Fridays for Future, which also operates in Slovakia, where I reside. Moreover, she undoubtedly served as an inspiration for the widespread growth of movements like the Climate Save Movement and Extinction Rebellion. Greta emerged as the voice that resonated with younger generations, bridging a gap that older activists struggled to reach. She successfully mobilized and engaged millions of schoolchildren and students worldwide. A similar movie to consider is I Am Greta (2020).

This is the incredible true story of how the actions of a Swedish teenager inspired a global movement that took the fight for real action on climate change further than ever before, being different is a superpower.

Watching, almost simultaneously, two documentaries about this child prodigy... Greta Thunberg was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome (Currently called autism spectrum disorder), ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder and selective mutism. While she acknowledges some struggles with her diagnosis, Thunberg says that depending on the circumstances, "being different is a superpower." #pride #cried.
