Another good episode, notable for steering clear of predictable and typical tropes for when melt down guy meets ex girl friend after a long while.
Lots of layered detail is revealed and hinted at, and no we don't get the full picture or story, we just learn there's a lot more to it and hints at what that could be, and finishes with some blanks left unanswered, just like real life, and in doing so paints a more interesting and intriguing picture.
Top marks for casting Xena warrior princess as a makeupless wine and cool whip slurping x gf mum, and her puke. Either stellar SFX or more disturbingly Lucy can puke on cue.
Great casting for Megan too, she's just quirky enough with an underlying layer of annoying to b believable as a mind messing musician ex.
Gordon-Levitt delivers again, balancing issues with real life. I particularly liked his walk it off scene, and that he didn't overplay in the slightest, as we've come to expect and tolerate from tv.
What a pleasure to be treated as an intelligent viewer.
