Dead and Breakfast
At the Spinster house in 1939, a man runs into the basement screaming and locks the door behind him. He looks for an exit but doesn't find one, and an old woman kills him with an axe.
In the present, Pam Spinster tells the story to a mother and her daughter staying at the BnB, as their father looks on. On cue, her brother Sam comes out wearing a "headless" mask and screaming to scare the guests. Blinded, Sam stumbles around and the family leaves, more disgusted than scared. The couple clean up the fake blood, and Sam figures they should sell the house, change their name, and start a "real" hotel. Pam tells her brother to show some respect, and says she doesn't want to sell the house because it's "family", and people like horror. She insists that their customers are out there and they just have to find them.
Later, Pam checks the reservations for other murder hotels and notices they're all booked, and wonders what it will take to get them on the map. He figures their grandmother was America's first serial killer and that's a big deal, and notices an influence promoting the Dahmer House. Pam figures they need an influencer and they'll offer the influencer, Morgue, a free night, wine and dine her, and get a positive review.
Later, Morgue does an episode of 'The Morgue Cases" at the BnB, and Pam interrupts to correct her. Morgue does a shot of Pam and introduces her, and Pam explains that she and Sam inherited the place from their grandmother and drags Sam on camera. The couple gives Morgue the tour, including a shrine of their grandmother which Morgue finds "trashy". The reservations go up, but Morgue loses her wifi signal and Pam explains that it's because of the steel panels in the wall that her grandmother had installed to muffle the screams of her victims.
The Spinster take Morgue to her room, and Pam explains that her grandmother designed the place as a maze to confuse and trap her victims, and reveals a hidden trapdoor that the mother used to capture victims who broke the rules: no smoking, no feet on the furniture, and no noise after dark. Morgue thinks the "bloodstains" look like rust, but Pam insists that it's blood. No one ever found the bodies, and Morgue points out that if there' s no body, there's no murder. The influencer points out that it all seems "thin" and she's never heard of the Spinster case until Pam emailed her. Pam angrily insists that her grandmother was a world-class serial killer, and would hack Morgue to pieces if she was there. Sam and Pam leave, and Morgue goes back to her show and says the owners are sad/creepy.
That night, Sm discovers that their reservations are decreasing, and Pam brings up the show which has Morgue saying that she isn't convinced Old Lady Spencer killed anyone. Sam figures Morgue is going to ruin them, and Pam says that Morgue isn't. Pam disconnects the wifi router. The next morning, Morgue tells the Spinsters that the wifi is down, and Pam claims that she's tried to call the repair company in and is still waiting. When Morgue apologizes for possibly upsetting them and says that they should keep an open mind, and suggests they do some investigating. They'll look around the house for unmarked entrances or hidden doors, and find out where all the bodies ended up. She wants to use advanced technology to go over the house.
The trio begin their search and Morgue finds hidden bottles of booze. They also find what appears to be a "corpse locker", with a sewing machine inside. Pam insists that Old Lady Spinster used the machine to sew and then wear the skins of her victims, and Morgue tells her that Pam's grandmother never killed anyone and was just crazy. Pam takes the comment personally, and Sam and Morgue walk off as Pam insists that her grandmother was a homicidal genius.
Morgue does her show and says that the place is a scam, and everyone should avoid the Spinster House. The wifi is still down, and Morgue hears the Spinster arguing. She finds a walkway in the walls, and finds a peephole into the lobby. Sam is telling his sister that they're losing money and the "macabre bit" isn't paying off. An angry Pam slaps Sam and insists that their grandmother wasn't cray, and it's their home and she'll die before she lets Morgue destroy what they've built. Pam figures that Morgue needs a scare and contemplates the axe at the shrine, and Sam hears Morgue in the walls.
That night, Pam goes into the sleeping Morgue's room, dressed as Old Lady Spinster, pulls away the covers, and lifts the axe. Morgue sprays her with mace and says that the old lady was crazy. Pam angrily insists that her grandmother wasn't crazy, and Morgue tells her that it's a crazy house rather than a murder house. When Morgue records Pam on her camera, Pam picks up the axe and cuts Morgue's arm. Sam hears them struggling, while Morgue runs out of her room.
Morgue runs through the walls, but gets lost in the maze. She finds the router and hooks it back up, and sends out a signal for help. Pam finds Morgue, who runs away but trips down the stairs and falls, while her camera records Pam. After Pam hacks Morgue to pieces, Sam comes in and realizes that his sister has gone insane. The reservations go back up as everyone watching figures that it's a publicity stunt, and Pam says that she needs Sam's help cleaning up the bloodstains. Sam strangles Pam dead.
One year later, people are lined up to book rooms. Sam is selling t-shirts and taking reservations, and notifying callers he's out of reservations, and laughs as he rakes in the cash. He tells a painting of Pam that she was right, and there's a market for horror. Actors recreate Pam killing Morgue, for the benefit of the guests, and then the Pam actor "hangs" herself. Sam takes the money to the vault and accidentally activates a hidden switch that drops him through a trapdoor into a room where the skeletons are all that remain of the bodies. He realizes that his mother really was a serial killer, and figures that he'll be rich. The trapdoor closes, trapping Sam,

Pesticide
After he finishes his job, Harlan King goes into the house, looks around, and finds Brenda Lanchester meeting with a patient. Harlan says that he's done with his work, and Brenda tells him to wait in the parlor. He insists on her signing his remittance before he goes, and she reluctantly goes to her desk and signs Harlan a check. He tells her to call him if she wants him back, although she's clearly disgusted with him.
Harlan goes to his van and figures Brenda will call him back the next time she has a problem with pests. He grabs a jar of roaches and goes inside, drops the roaches on the floor, then drives to his next job. The van barely gets him there before the engine goes dead, and he goes into an abandoned building and goes in. The owner, Murdoch, greets Harlan and says that King is highly recommended. He doesn't say who referred Harlan, but knows that Harlan's family has been in pest extermination for a long time. Murdoch also knows that Harlan's uncle is in prison, and can help Harlan with his problems like the bad van.
Murdoch tells Harlan that his problem is he owns the property and several like it, and is preparing to have them all razed and refurbished into condominium complexes. He says that if he's satisfied with Harlan's work, he would have more full-time work for him. However, he can't begin his renovations until he deals with the infestation problem. Murdoch shows Harlan some homeless people outside, and makes it clear he wants Harlan to exterminate them. Harlan says that he doesn't do murder-for-hire and starts to leave, and Murdoch shows Harlan a briefcase full of money and insists that it's the same job Harlan does anyway. Temped, Harlan says that he could do one and takes the money.
That night, Harlan goes into the encampment while the people are sleeping, and considers putting poison in their stew. He figures that it's not worth it, and a homeless person comes up behind him, starling him so he drops the vial of poison in the stew. The man draws a knife and attacks Harlan, and the others wake up as Harlan shoves another vial of poison into his attacker's mouth. The man collapses, convulsing, and Harlan grabs the case of money he brought with him and runs out. In the stew, the poison spreads.
Harlan goes home to his cheap apartment and lies in bed, counting the money. A roach climbs on his shoe, and he slaps at it, apparently killing it. Harlan turns off the bed to go to sleep, and wakes up to find Murdoch in his room, applauding his work. He says that Harlan lost his nerve and takes the money. He sprays Harlan in the face with insecticide... and Harlan wakes up from his nightmare. The money is still there, and Harlan finds a snake slithering over his legs. Harlan knocks the money he was counting on the floor, and when he picks it up, a giant rat bites his wrist. He pulls free and looks at his bleeding stump... and wakes up from his nightmare. It's morning and his hand is fine, but the money is gone.
Harlan drives back to the building and finds the police and an ambulance there. He calls Murdoch and gets an answering machine, and drives top an embankment that his next job. Mosquitos fly at him from the nearby trees, and Harlan sprays the trees in frustration. A giant mosquito lands on his chest, and sucks his blood from him, and Harlan realized that he imagined the whole thing. He goes home and lies in his bed, and imagines bug swarming him. He yells at them to leave him alone, and can't sleep.
The next day, Harlan drives around in a half-doze and tries to call Murdoch, and discovers the line has been disconnected. He imagines a giant bug on the passenger seat, and tries to swat it but it disappears. Harlan sees a giant spider in his rear view mirror, and it drives its fangs into his neck. He pulls over and sees his face melting in the mirror. Then Harlan sees the spider on top of the van, and it sprays webbing on him. The homeless man who attacked Harlan appears, still spewing foam from his mouth from the poison Harlan sprayed there.
Later, an unharmed Harlan wakes up in Brenda's home. She asks what he's doing there, and Harlan says that he's done something bad and needs to talk to her. Brenda gives in and sits down to hear him out, and Harlan tells her what happened. Harlan finally says that Murdoc is the Devil, and Harlan dropped the poison into the stew. He stands up and says that he doesn't have an overblown guilt complex, and sprays Brenda with pesticide. Harlan wakes up from his nightmare as Brenda tells him that guilt can be a powerful drug, but so is sleep deprivation. He admits that he can't sleep, and Brenda tells him to sit back and take a nap.
Harlan dozes off, and Brenda says that he has a roach problem now and thinks she knows why. When Harlan wakes up, he finds himself in miniature size on Brenda's couch. Brenda comes in, and swats Harlan with a rolled-up magazine, thinking he's a roach. She then goes to her door, where Murdoch is there in an exterminator's uniform and asks if she has a bug problem.
