A few days ago, I received a mysterious message from Brian Gramo of theStream.tv saying that this Friday on their popular gaming program The Game Show some big news was going to be announced soon. After the news a few weeks ago that their sponsor Evo Energy Drink had to pull its sponsorship support of the live interactive television station, I was excited to know what the good news could be. So I decided the best way to be in on the action was to head over to theStream.tv station and watch the announcement live. I was not disappointed. The Game Show opened with a filmed segment of the trio of hosts, Jim Festante, David Guida, and Nikole Zivalich, getting an Xbox friend request from…Revision3. Giddy with excitement, they accept the request to unlock the Synergistic Achievement at which they quipped: “they’ve seen our show, right?...

The nominees for the 2010 Streamys were announced today. The Streamys celebrate online television programming and this year they have a fantastic line up of nominees. Last year was the Streamys debut year and the winners included high profile shows such as Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog and the exceptional Battlestar Galactica web series The Face of the Enemy.
This year there is even more competition with some really interesting content now being released on the web rather than through more traditional media routes. Two of my favourites from this year’s nominee list are the excellent Interview Project which is presented by davidlynch.com and the slightly flawed but thoroughly enjoyable Angel of Death, created by Ed Brubaker and starring Zoe Bell, which also received a DVD release last year.
The awards ceremony takes place on April 11th 2010 and the full list of nominees is listed below with handy links...

It's a flurry of activity in the studio as guests from the Live! From the Future With Stuart Papp show linger and the crew of the RadNerd Show rush about, trying to organize media with the operations manager, preparing for sound check, going over their outline of segments with their special guest Sara Fletcher from My Secret Girlfriend. There is an electricity and excitement in the air and at the center of it all is Brian Gramo, Overlord of theStream.tv (I had to make up a title because as the space under his picture on the website states: "I don't really have a title, but if i did... I'd put it here!"), orchestrating the transitions with the stature of someone with a combination of natural talent and years of experience. It's Tuesday, November 10th and it's the premiere (or as the network calls it, the pilot presentation) of the...

What a night last night—thank you to everyone who made it out to the sold out Tubefilter Hollywood Web TV Meetup, the night was teeming with creative energy. It started off with a packed panel session, "Going Live!" where we got into the nuts and bolts of live streaming web series. The entire panel, which can be watched now on demand (above), reached over 700 concurrent viewers on the live stream through Stickam.com and here on Tubefilter News. A higher-res version of the panel will be available soon. We took a clue from panelist Tyler Crowley's live web series, This Week in Startups with Jason Calacanis, and did what Jason calls "making love to the sponsors." So you might catch a few shout-outs to our sensational sponsors—Ooyala, Amd, Sony Creative Software, Showbiz Software, and Blip.tv. As fellow panelist Brian Gramo of TheStream.TV quipped, "you can't TiVo...

Regular readers will remember back in July when we spelled out 4 Ways to Make the Most of the Tubefilter Web TV Meetup. It's worth dusting off and reading again if you're even thinking about attending. (And if you're in La next week, you better have a good excuse if we don't see you there.) Number 1 on that list was "Do Your Homework!" and that means finding out more about our stellar panelists. Today we're taking a closer look at Coin-Op TV Live, who's co-host Hailey Bright will be on the Going Live! panel. (RSVP here) Coin-Op TV Live The hour-long live video gamer series, hosted and created by Robert Welkner dates all the way back to 2004 when it launched as a video podcast. In fall of 2006 the series became one of the first shows on the all-live web TV network, TheStream.tv which gave it a new home and larger set.
