PARADISO is a wonderful film capable of exploring the effects of the war in Northern Ireland with lightness, poetry and irony. The story of this group of elderly musicians and their attempt to invite their former "enemies" in their "Protestant Dance Hall after 40 years unfold with irony and sometimes a bit of melancholia for a world that is about to disappear. Different from the usual documentaries about "The Troubles", PARADISO, trough the rhythm of the tango music lead us in to a disappearing neighborhood with a touch of Buena Vista Social Club and an exquisite cinematography mixed with poetry and a lyrical approach. The two old ladies and their passion for dancing are simply delightful. This multi-award winning documentary is an elegy for a community and its attempt to bypass the worst fence ever: fear.
