Ray Childress (Dermot Mulroney) tells Eve to go topside. He should have told her to go on deck. It's a common mistake among boaters to refer to the deck as the topside. Topsides actually refer to the part of the hull (side of the boat) that is above the waterline.
At the end when Dovey tells Eve to 'raise her sail', it's quite obvious that there is not even a faint breath of wind. A few seconds later the boat drives out of sight but the water is flat and calm, there is no wind and the sail is hanging limp.
