The flashback scene where young Maria drives off in a Mercedes taxi after saying goodbye to her sister and her father, is supposed to take place 20-30 yrs ago. The type of license plate (incl. the blue EU logo on the left) displayed on the taxi, however, wasn't introduced before the year 2000.
