With some 77 years since the end of WWII; I could not help thinking just how many people's lives are a reflection of this story. Though it's listed as a drama, there are no disclaimers in the end credits to indicate that is is a fiction.
As an example, some 12 million Americans who served during the war, came home, and most buried their involvement. They wanted to forget the carnage, and horrors, and get on with their lives. It has only been in the last 20 years or so, that these veterans finally were able and willing to have their stories told.
That is precisely why this drama is quite believable. Other commenters who nit pick about the accents, or the actors, ought to zip it.
