David and Charlie, the children of the family, have taken over the chore of doing the laundry. But soon David finds a garment which sets of the momentarily forgotten anxiety within him. He storms into his room shouting to his father how they won't do the laundry again if this continues. While trying to suppress his outbreak his father interrupts him, and the fight is on again. In the next room, Charlie sits on his bed startled over having upset his brother by having forgotten that their mother's sweater no longer needs to be washed.
