Set at the end of 1983 there are numerous anachronisms. Some examples:
1) The American long-neck beer bottles were only introduced to Quebec the following Spring 1984.
2) The keyboard, likely a Casio CT-401, one of the first introduced by Casio is from 1981, only two years before the setting and certainly no such keyboard could have been owned for 10 years by that time. It is referred to as a Casio, which would not be a commonly known brand, not even for digital watches.
3) Another expression which is jarring is "mis su' le quat' pattes" (switched to all-wheel drive). Though part-time AWD did exist on such exotic vehicles as the Subaru Leone, the rare 4 X 4 vehicles were full-time AWD and the expression for switching in inclement weather came much later.
