Writer/Director Richard Diaz has a very cool thriller called Distortion that'll be coming our way real soon.
The main cast is Brenden P. Hill, Mike Pusateri, Kimberly Howard, Jeff Jamerson, John Chase, Deneen Melody, and Shon Lange. The trailer below (which has a feel like a demon/devil walks amongst us) just premiered this weekend at Sac Sci-fi and Horror Con.
Synopsis:
George is a video editor that starts to get visions through his TV of people getting murdered by a mysterious killer. As the visions become clearer and more intense he seeks help from his friend Jay and girlfriend Danielle and Detective Sam Blaine. The killer is not just any killer but one that has returned to murder people who will one day become soldiers in the war against good and evil. But he must kill them before they become aware. George has become aware early and is...

Fresh off the press or you know what I mean is an early teaser poster for writer/director Richard Diaz's upcoming action/thriller Dark Light. Dark Light will starting filming later this summer and into the winter. Be on the lookout for much more on this project soon!
From the Dark Light Facebook page plot outline;
Stemming back to a story I came up with in 2002 but getting a 2010 overhaul 'Dark Light' is an action thriller which in some ways is just a simple revenge story only modeled after the films of Michael Mann, Brian DePalma, Quentin Tarantino, Sergio Sollima, and John Woo.
It is being made much like my previous film 'Distortion' with very little money and no crew but a lot of ambition.

Many years ago Richard Diaz started posting on horror message boards along with myself and many others. He was affectionately known to his online buddies as "Gory", and he traveled with us from Fangoria to the place that shall not be named (we wish them well) and now finally to here on Dread Central. His love of horror is pure and as evident as can be, and it's with great pleasure and honor that we debut the trailer for his first indie horror film. Get ready for a look at Distortion!
The film stars Brenden P. Hill, Mike Pusateri, Kimberly Howard, and Jeff Jamerson. Diaz served as writer, producer, and director.
"The film was made for about $3,000 and with no crew," Diaz tells us. "Just me, my camera, a few lights, and the actors. It took seven years, starting in 2003, from the original idea to make a feature to the...

Rumor has it that the crew of Platinum Dunes' A Nightmare On Elm Street is set to shoot tonight in Gary, Indiana on the site of the former City Methodist Church. The Church, located at the corner of 6th Avenue and Washington Street has been abandoned for years, and should lend a creepy vibe to the production.
Fangoria has your first-look at the location they'll be using after the jump!
This photo was taken at the site being used for the Anoes remake last September, as friend of the site Richard Diaz was using the Gary location for his indie film Distortion (see the trailer here). More photos of the post-apocalyptic looking Church can be found on Distortion's official production blog located here. The church was also used in another indie, a modernized telling of MacBeth (see trailer here).
Here's another look at the incredibly damaged structure pulled from...

Over the weekend, those attending our Chicago stop on the Weekend of Horrors Tour got a first-look at the new trailer for Distortion (see our last report here). Filmmaker Richard Diaz, who many of you know as "Gory" on the Fangoria Forums just sent us a copy to share with you here on the site, so check it out after the jump!
As you may recall, Distortion centers on George (Brenden P. Hill), a video editor who begins seeing people killed on his TV. Filming wrapped in Chicago last fall, with the project looking for a hopeful mid-2009 completion. Look for more on the film as we have it, and be sure to check out the Official Site, MySpace, or the frequently updated production blog to dig deeper.
