More drama, not advancing the plot
billsoccer23 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Another piece of debris lands and has a deadly influence on the locals bodies. Finola - in opposition to Bryan - finds a way to put them in suspended animation before the debris' removal kills them. Unfortunately, the only plot advancement is that Finola finds out her father may be alive and Bryan has known this. This is perhaps the most disappointing episode yet, because of this lack of progress.

The science of the debris still has me hooked. Warning: Spoilers
In this episode the latest debris has the effect of adapting people to a hostile environment, though I have to agree why the humans were converted to chlorine breathers has me stumped. People are saying the the transformation happens too quickly, but we have seen how time works differently for the effects of the debris. What looks to be seconds can be days to weeks to months in the person affected versus the observer in our time line frame of reference. What the episode shows is that other debris collected can help manage the effects of new debris found. The debris that is used to help put the victims of the newest debris survive past the transformation looks like the debris from the first pilot episode, which in that episode put people into a state of suspended animation and made them appear dead.

As for the comment that the antagonists seem to be using the debris in more interesting ways rings true, since it is one of the protagonist's father that is helping them, the scientist that seems to know the most about what the debris from the ship is all about. I am starting to also see that this show is not going to end up being about "debris," but about the original ship and the debris from a single ship has to stop falling to earth. There is only so much debris. The only solution to that would be if other ships start to show up, break up and raining debris on earth. Then the question would be if the ships are from the same space faring race or species and if different, it makes it a nightmare to catalog and figure out the technology. We do not even know what the builders of the ships look like. Art they "greys" or reptillians or insectoids or octopods or something else? If there are multiple races and ships, are they at war with one another? If they are at war, then that would make sense as debris from battle wreckage will continue to rain down on earth. Then all sorts of questions open up and the direction of the show can go in multiple directions.

I have to agree with the other reviewers, that the acting and character development is not there for the two protagonists in the field. I am hoping that. Norbert Leo Butz can save the show...

The science and reason is missing

I want to like this show. The production value is good. The acting is fine, but the writing team seems lazy. The dialogue makes no sense. Even though "debris" has been falling from space for months, no one seems to have any clue that this is happening. Also, why are only two people (non-scientists) leading the investigation. Are they supposed to be psychiatrist? Every episode they are providing emotional counselling. It's a bit strange. I hope that the series starts to embrace the science of Sci-Fi as this progresses.

I guess everybody.. ok, at least in my case, thought this could be the next fringe but nah.. too much drama and almost 0 science. The brit is ok but the american guy.. he's supposed to be military but when you look at him all you can see is like an ex lazy cop who tries to be hilarious sometimes and gets emotional more often than the girl.. After 4 episodes.. 0 concrete focus on a real plot besides your typical "monster of the week" which in this case is the debris of the week that causes different effects where it lands... is all..

Getting more boring by the episode...

...even the 9,10/10 "best episode ever" shills have given up!

I had such high hopes for this intriguing plot, but it has less and less about the alien debris, and more about soapy emotions.

Who are these two agents?! It appears that they have no boss and are above everyone else involved with the debris, can use pieces of debris for their own personal satisfaction, never receive instructions from anyone, never ask advice from anyone, are so unbelievably brilliant that they have solutions instantly.

Too bad the "bad guys" from the pilot weren't the main characters of the plot, instead. At least they are using the debris in interesting ways!

Best episode so far, which isn't a compliment
gareth-7544224 March 2021
"Terra forming" was the subject of this episode, apart from the formulation of some strange flowers there wasn't a great deal else, biological mutation isn't Terra forming its simply mutation, humans should've died in this alien environment not had there physiology altered to survive & certainly not within a matter of seconds, but hey ho more mumbo jumbo pseudo science, the soap drama is still lame, the wistful glances into the distance before more garbage dialogue is uttered is still there. There is a reason for the constant complaints of the poor acting & poor casting choices, these actors are supposed to sell the story even if its a bad story, these actors don't do that, even the attempt to inject a little humor into the main protagonists interactions falls flat because there is no chemistry between the two of them, many reviewers have drawn comparisons with the X files & Fringe, this show lacks everything those shows had in abundance, it lacks the caliber of story telling those shows had it lacks the indepth character building those shows had & it lacks the decent quality of actors those shows had, X files & Fringe had intrigue, excitment, they had interesting immersive storylines, they had peril & adventure, they had actors that could act, this show has nothing of that, it is simply meh!

Too much moralism for me
augustoarthur24 April 2021
It's not becoming a sci-fi series, it's more like a drama right now, in the middle of a alien situtarion happening, the scientists that should be the reason not the heart on making decisions, are in the opposite side. Complete BS.
