In the opening scene, Moana climbs up a cliff with her pig tied to her back with several loops of rope. When she reaches the top, she reaches behind her and removes the pig without untying it first. The rope also disappears from her body as she stands up on top of the cliff.
Moana is standing on top of the highest peak of Motufetu when she sees her boat and crew about to land on the beach. In the very next scene she greets them on the beach as they land. No where near enough time had passed in order for her to reach them when she did, as she was quite far away on top of a very tall mountain.
One of the premises of the movie is that the people of the island of Motunui have been isolated for many generations, yet Loto speaks with an accent different from all other inhabitants of the island.
