Better. However...

Much better without Liz. However, making her out as this super villain from out of nowhere isn't going to fly. Reddington has spent decades becoming the Genius-level world player that he is. Now you want us to believe that Lizzy absorbed this talent from Red by osmosis over seven years? Okay.

Additionally, having Aram place a bug at that table at the most ideal time ever, and then having the lady at the table call and move thing up, giving the FBI the new Date/Time/Location is just sad writing. The plot needs it to happen, so it does. Stop doing this.

Personally, I only see two ways out of this mess they've made:

1. After all of this crap Liz has done, there is no way she can come back, so kill her off and get back to doing "The List" part of The Blacklist with Raymond and whoever, or

2. Kill off Liz and start a new show called "Reddington" with a new cast.

I swear they should just let Raymond Reddington die off and Liz go to jail because these latest shows since he Mom was killed and she's been on the Blacklist the writing has been horrible, the story line is been disturbing yucky lol I can hardly stand watching it anymore and I'm die heart fan until now. I just want it over after all Red has done for Liz now it's just stupid

The freelancer blacklister that was released by Liz seemed like a bit of a meh. They could have maybe chosen someone with signficance, Gina Zanetakos would be good, maybe Katarinas husband from season 4. The guy the chose was as random as someone like 'the judge' from season1, i guess they grabbed who they could though...

Little action. I liked cooper in his role, red scenes were good... Interested with that drive, the people with the masks were cool...

...is it just me or are the agents on the Task Force getting dumber?

It's getting harder to watch them bumbling around. In previous series they were always so smart and able to catch master criminals. Now they can't catch anyone linked with Keen - even a homeless man in the park.

The scriptwriters seriously need to up their game.

A mildly convoluted episode, in its own way, with average everything and the team needing to go to the "field" all by themselves! Some music disturbance in important moments (one of the weakest point of the show) and some fillers preparing for next episode.

It basically revolve around Keen and a little of Reddington, and that's not good. The Blacklist used to be much more.

How is she suddenly acting so smart after making fool of herself for far so long?

Its really hard to digest but at the same time I dont understand why so many haters of her in reviews.

A Breath of Fresh Air!

What a delight to only have Liz mentioned in this episode rather than appearing. Her presence recently has been toxic to the point of needing a gas mask to watch the episodes. It is as though the writers go brain dead when dealing with her character; including making all of the other characters lose at least 100 points of IQ with her mere presence. I enjoyed this episode!

We're currently in a transition

These last two episodes have been our transition episodes, from Raymond Reddington aka Emperor of the Crime world to Elizabeth Keen, the fbi agent on the run who's stolen many from Raymond Reddington.

We're going to have more episodes like this, since the process is still going on. Ressler will give in to his love and will disappoint the team, Raymond will face the consequences of not hurting Keen when he could. I definitely enjoyed this episode though, the show literally pulled a "uno reverse card". Red is definitely struggling but this is just the beginning. I definitely don't support Keen, but looking at this from an empathetic point, she's mad because she lost her mother whom she believed to be innocent. But also she's taking it a little too far, but I mean it's Keen and she definitely has some issues. Interesting overall, curious where the show is taking us.

An episode without Liz is a 10/10

As another reviewer has said ' Breath of fresh air ' simply because I went a whole episode without yelling or screaming at the TV! Just let Liz disappear for good (or die) and carry on with the show!!

Megan Boone didn't appear in this, but that doesn't mean it's suddenly a 10/10. Decent score no doubt, but too loud at the wrong times. The story is better than they've been in the last couple years; but, it's still not the quality that the first 4-5 years produced. James Spader is surely better than 90% of the actors out there - but he doesn't seem very enthusiastic about the show anymore. The throwback to an early "Blacklister" seems like a weak attempt to recapture former glory. The thinking of this supposedly top group of FBI agents is simply beyond the pale of bad choices on top of bad performance. Poor stake-out protocols and poor execution. Bad players get bugged too easily, and the whole "lay low" cliché just reeked of writers who have simply run out of quality ideas.

People like Glen (RIP), and Mr. Kaplan really made the early years pop. Now sub-standard actors perform with cardboard emotion. When the characters don't show emotion, why should we? This week was a decent storyline, and could have been even better had it been dealt to us as a smooth operation (on either side). Instead we're treated to shows of "who can screw up the least". Cooper and Ressler are giving less and less.

When Red had leverage and the where-with-all to manipulate this crack FBI unit, and when criminals were actually interesting - we had a reason to suspend belief for an hour and just enjoy the show. Now, Keen is on the run from the FBI (who don't really seem all that interested in catching her). Red on the run from Liz just doesn't get anyone interested. Almost no one is interested in seeing or hearing from Boone. Wrong person for the wrong part.

There's still a few Spader moments sprinkled here and there, but they are far and few between. Spader's lackluster performance comes across as just plain bored. Arison (as Aram) continues to improve, and IMO has entered the "break-out" quality of actor we all enjoy. Tawfiq (as Dembe) continues to impress (when he has the chance). Still, in the end, I can only give this a 7/10 (7.5 at best).

This episode was SO much better than the last few, because there was NO ELIZABETH. However, they're still painting her as some kind of criminal mastermind, which is both annoying and completely unbelievable. She was a horrible FBI agent who couldn't even do her job when the information and power of the government was behind her... and they want us to buy that she's able to outsmart and outplay Reddington? Sure, ok.

You can almost see the writer/showmakers supposed tries through the first 5 episodes of this season to make this into some sort of poetic display where keen foes these things in a fantastic manner, but the episodes writing is way too weak, and whatever was supposed to come of didn't come off and now its only going downhill, the showrunner needs to realize this and the fact that at this point james spader has become more important than his story as we just dont connect with keen enough let alone the others an ending where reddington dies somehow making up with keen or not is downright weak, reddinton has to live past the ending to give respect to the legendary character and criminal not these childish mistakes nor some righteousbess where the villain mush make up for some of his wrongs and die in the end

Less Liz, and more enjoyment! BUT. I'm extremely irritated with how all-out evil Liz has become. Using Red's money to get a serial mass murderer out of prison just so she can use him to kill Red? That is irredeemable! There is no fact situation that I can imagine that would justify ever putting her back on the FBI task force, so I guess they are writing her off once the Red v. Liz feud is resolved. Which is fine, of course, Ha-Ha! I just hate the way the writers have been writing and changing Liz's character. So annoying and unbelievable. I loved the way the whole task force worked together to crack the Fribourg group. Back to the basics that always works and makes the fans happy!

Impressive

This was a great episode because they eulogized the character Glen Carter who was a regular character who helped Reddington find people. The actor, Clark Middleton, actually passed away between the 7th and 8th season so this was a true tribute to the actor and I respect the producers for doing this. They even got Huey Lewis to come on the show so Middleton must have been an actual fan. I liked the quirky character he played so RIP Clark. You are missed.

Testify or Free!?

This episode begins with a couple, their alarm rings in the middle of the night while they are sleeping. Jennifer and her friends raid Carl his house, they stole stuff that belongs to Reddington. The new name on The Blacklist: The Fribourg Confidence. The Freelancer comes out of jail if Liz don't testify in court against him. It gets clear that Jennifer works with Esi. Jennifer, Raf and Silvina got arrested by The Taskforce. Skip bought The Freelancer free, Keen needs him. Red meets Anne. Solid Episode of The Blacklist Season 8, The Taskforce didn't find Keen. Will they ever see her again?

Sure the episode is better than 3& 4. Because we re returning to the old model Red + The team vs the crime world But I still cant accept the whole plot Keen vs Red Before there was a plot of extreme feud between Red and best friend Mr Kaplan . But it was justified . Now I cant find any justification for this (thing) that is happening between Liz and Red. Pls return to the model. Forget about this nonesense.

Everyone has said it over and over. The Keen character is so ridiculous. But also the people around her. They complain about everything she has been doing, but they keep helping her out instead of arresting her. And Redington keeps getting mad at people who work for him, when a moron could see these are all things Keen is doing. Stupid! Again the writers destroyed a great show.

Don't be fooled, even though Keen is not in the episode, everything in it is about her. Somehow her evil mastermind grows by the minute. Everyone else is running around sucking on their thumbs. Only thing missing now is that her daughter ends up like a certified MiniMe. As someone once said; we are not amused.

I have to be blunt but much about acting involved the eyes and facial expressions. Agent Park has one expression 'dead', like nobody is home. Sorry but it really drags the show down and makes every scene she's in somewhat annoying!

No Elizabeth, that's good. However, you can tell exactly what will happen in the episode after the first 5-10 min. Bland writing and boring storytelling.

We got some of the old Blacklist action, however, with the whole team collaborating in classic fashion to solve the case. That was OK.

Ok, so I'm not even going to debate this atrocity of a story, the facts are simple: Red is the bigest criminal mastermind in the world(as presented in the previous seasons), Keen is your everyday somewhat smart person with no emotional intelligence, but her ties to Red gave her a new brain all of the sudden. By this facts this story makes no sense, the only conclusion i can make is that Red, and the whole FBI, just decided to act as very, very bad investigators that just sit aside and watch Keens silly story unfold, and act surprised and confused at every very(and I cannot stress this enough) predictable and preventable step that dummikeen makes. Also, really Keen and Ressler??? Why not Keen and Cooper or Dembe or Aram or Park or Red for that matter, such bad writing it's incredible, I will make an offering to the gods of film, maybe they won't strike us down with another season. And the spoilers: so Red tells Cooper that Keen had planned to get some blacklist criminal out of prison using a fancy lawyer and the money that she stole from him, but neither one of them fallow that lead, like track the money, track the lawyer, track the guy that's in fu#$!ng prison, they had so many ways to catch keen, or at least ruin her non sense plan, instead they to nothing, I know I'm rambling incoherently but this show is starting to have this effect on me for a few years now and I'm cracking up...
