The first episode was okay but by the time you get into episode two, you realize there's going to be quite a bit of facts ignored and nonsensical attempts to draw empathy for a lot of people that definitely don't deserve it.
There's not a single mention of Nancy's collusion with this monster- including her hiding of over FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS that was recovered from her attic!! She's no more a victim than her disgusting daughter but you're going to see ridiculous amounts of attempts to paint her as a dupe and poor victim of KR. She's previously been pretty proud of her education and understanding of linguistics but suddenly she's feigning indifference and stupidity regarding linguistics??? There's a reason he chose her- because she assisted in developing the terminology and educational materials.
There's also a serious lack of culpability in all of this for Mark Vincente, Sarah Edminson, India Oxenburg, and a few others for their roles in this, as well. It'svery possible to be a victim as well as a criminal, but this season seems to be pleased with itself too turn those who are also culpable in consistent and effective abuse of others, while also benefiting monetarily extremely well, into poor victims who were so tricked, even though they were in it for decade(s) and warned repeatedly of abuses, but hey we're profiting well so let's just ignore everything!
There's loads of background that's somehow omitted and for all this huffing and puffing, we all know what really happened here so why pretend otherwise?
