The attractive Eva Färber has been the perfect wife for 22 years. However, the peaceful and uniform married life of the mother of two is thrown into disarray when she receives the news that her father, who is visiting her sister Hanna in South Africa, is seriously ill. Worried, Eva books the next flight to Cape Town and wants to quickly inform her husband Paul about the trip. She finds out that his supposed business dinner is a meeting with a young blonde. Completely thrown off track, Eva arrives in the South African bush, where Hanna has put a lot of energy into building a small lodge for safari tourists. Her father is doing a little better, but seeing her sister again brings the unspoken to light: After the early death of her mother, Eva was a surrogate mother for her little sister. She always had to be strong and control herself, she never cried for her father's sake. While Hanna became a fun-loving, carefree woman, Eva was never able to free herself from her protective armor. That changes when she meets the rough but charming ranger Alex. At first she finds him unbearable, but in an inimitable way Alex lures the closed townswoman out of her shell. Thanks to him, Eva suddenly experiences adventure, passion and a lightness she hasn't known for a long time.
