Caroline Jeune, a gendarme captain, takes on her first murder. An 18-year-old Kurdish woman, Sabrya, was murdered on her way home from the choir she sang in. At the crime scene Caroline finds that she's being observed by semi-retired cop Louis Kleber. Initially annoyed by his intrusive offer of help, she ends up agreeing that he can tag along. Hidden links and things unspoken in the town shake up the young captain and the old cop, helping them not only solve the case, but also deal with some emotions too long repressed.
