Very good but way too short
planktonrules27 February 2009
Considering that this film was made by students in a vocational program, this is an amazingly well made short. HUSH consists of four stories about high school students in the inner city that are all intertwined. They're all having various serious problems but all of them keep it to themselves--trying hard to convince their peers that everything is okay. For example, one is illiterate and wants to learn but is too embarrassed to ask for help and another has a father that is way too affectionate with his daughter. All the stories are pretty interesting and seem pretty real, the only problem is that this short is so darn short. All these interesting scenarios are created but there isn't any time for any resolution and you're dying to see more. While this is frustrating, it's so well done that this can be excused. In addition, this film might be excellent to use with teens to lead to discussions on problem solving and crisis intervention.
