Some nice little insights into her mother.
One of Judy Garland's daughters, Lorna Luft, stars in this featurette included on the disc for "Pigskin Parade". "Pigskin Parade" is not a particularly good film but it does mark the feature film debut of Judy Garland--hence the tie-in with "Remembering Judy".
As Luft talks about her mother and her history, you see clip after clip of her mother performing. Much of this is what you might expect. However, having Luft talk was very insightful, as she also talked about her family--the good and the bad. While I knew that Judy Garland's mother was evil*, Luft herself was pretty blunt about the woman and I found this honesty refreshing. Worth seeing if you are a fan of the amazing Miss Garland. My only regret is that I would LOVE to see a film where all her kids get to talk about their mother and their lives--now THAT would be interesting.
*According to one documentary I saw about Judy Garland, her mother was the ultimate stage mother who LOVED living the high life when her daughter hit it big. At one point early in Judy's career, her mother even badgered her to have an abortion--just so the gravy train would keep on chugging! Nice, huh?!
