Best episode of the season so far
I felt like this episode was so beautifully balanced. It showed the many ways that Covid has affected real people, not just because of people getting sick from the virus but all the other side effects. like people not getting medical treatment they need and getting sick or dying, or the isolation that batters our mental health and can even risk someone's life that way. The hard choices we make now that it's been a year and we all want it to be over, but we also know that we have to be safe. How do you balance "if I go out and do this thing can I risk someone else's life?" and "If I don't go out I'm going to lose my mind"? And especially how it has affected young people.
This episode weaved all of these aspects into the storyline. It all felt very natural and not forced, as some TV shows have done. Everything everyone said or did reminded me of real people who have said and done these things. Dr Helen said many things we have all felt at some point.
Excellent script, wonderful acting, and great direction! if episodes continue to be so strong then this might be the best season of the series.

Reality at its best
For any person who was in or close to the front lines in the Covid emergency, this episode hits hard. Visits to ERs (non-Covid related) declined in Canada over 80% in the first 6 months of the pandemic. We will never know how many people died just because they were afraid or couldn't go to the hospital. Then, the fear and frustration of the personnel there. But they had to do their jobs. If you want a pic of how it was (and even today is) for health workers in pandemic times, look no further. And as the doctor said "we have to learn to live with the virus... we have lost so much... we can't live in fear anymore"
I think New Amsterdam is the best TV show out now, and this was one of the best episodes.
Almost every time I watch New Amsterdam, I get tears in my eyes and this episode was no exception. It was so realistic and brought out the idea that no matter how good you are (in all respects), it's not always enough.
Between the "new" problems associated with Covd and the "usual" problems such as work interfering with your personal life, this episode had it all.

Dad joke
One of my favorite lines is when Max Goodwin tells a "Dad joke" to his soon to be born baby. He says, "What do you get when you cross an elephant with a rhino?" Ele if I know, " AKa" Hell if I know.🤣😂

Medical misinformation at its worst
Not all cops
I get that this show is liberal so it's no surprise that they have such a diverse cast and that they are so pro choice and that they support trans people. But come on. Saying that cops make you feel unsafe is just offensive. Please stick to medical issues and stop with the woke nonsense.

Worst Episode ever
Ridiculous
I have loved this show until season 3 and Covid. I watch movies and tv shows for entertainment and give me an outlet from the real world. Since Covid has happened, our world feels like chaos. I don't understand why it is necessary to push a narrative on this show that's false and could be very dangerous. Instilling fear is not what we need right now. Screaming at the top of our lungs that we should all be afraid is ridiculous. Go back to just writing good story and stop already with this political crap. Some people may say it's not political. But it is. My husband is an ED nurse and he gets very upset at all the lies and misinformation that's being delivered. Also, why in the world are we telling people they should be afraid when nobody in the hospital is wearing masks until they go outside foe some reason. It's so stupid. I just want the writers to go back to writing a good story. Because if this continues, I don't know if we will be able to continue to watch, which really makes me sad because I have really enjoyed this show.

I love this show but something is wrong with this episode.
Fizzle factor engaging
As much as this show was very good at outset, it is suffering and sputtering. Cast is excellent but writing is lackluster, which is endemic in American programming.. 🤦🏻
