Cassie is an accountant with a long-term boyfriend. Her mother's wedding is coming up, but when the wedding planner leaves early, former event-planner Cassie agrees to take over. She arrives at her mother's house and finds that a lot of work still needs to be done. While looking for a caterer, she meets restaurant-owner and chef Kyle, who has reluctantly tried catering because his business is struggling. Cassie hires him to cater the wedding. She then finds a wedding venue, which is an old barn that needs renovation. Kyle also does carpentry work in his spare time, and Cassie hires him to help with the venue. The two start working closely together. Despite some initial disagreements on the venue design and catering menu, Cassie and Kyle get along well and soon develop romantic feelings for each other. Cassie also rediscovers the love of event planning that she had abandoned years before. However, she still has a reliable job and boyfriend in the city, and she must decide what path to follow once the wedding is over.
