Originally written to be a short film. After initial production wrapped in May 2008, Mosley and Storey plugged away tirelessly in the editing room only to find themselves, in the end, staring down the barrel of a 53-minute "short" film. They regrouped and realized that there was more of the story to be told. So, additional scenes were written and a second phase of production commenced in September 2008 which wrapped on November 1. A year after shooting the first frame of "HOLD, the short version" Mosley and Storey found themselves in possession of a lean 85-minute feature film.
After premiering in the Texas Competition of the 2010 Dallas International Film Festival, HOLD played a week later at the 2010 Kent International Film Festival in Connecticut, where it won The Sleeping Giant Award (feature), given to films "that people should be on the watch for".
