The Masterplan

Warning: Spoilers
Following the concerning events of last episode, Hidan is in the woods with his ritual ready, and now intends to kill Shikamaru. In the meantime, Kakashi battles Kakuzu and the three creatures. For some reason, Ino and Choji can only watch. Kakashi tries to block with water the attack from the now combined black creature of wind and fire, but in the urge, loses sight of Kakuzu, who surprises him from a tree. The monster attempts to take his heart to replace the one he lost, and uses his threads to tie him. Fortunately, just in time, Hidan stabs himself in the heart, and Shikamaru pretends to die. But turns out it was his masterplan: Kakuzu actually receives the stab because Hidan cursed him by using his blood. It's revealed that when Kakashi used the chidori in Kakuzu, extracted a little bit of blood from his body, and some time later, passed it to Shikamaru. He used it in the woods and threw it to Hidan's steel, while pretending to be wounded in the cheek. Then Hidan drew the circle, cursed Kakuzu, and stabbed him in the heart. Shikamaru takes advantage of the surprise and when Hidan turns back, uses his sword to chop his head, but the cut reaches his shoulder. Right then, uses his shadow to immobilize him. The plan resulted well, yet Hidan figures the shadow jutsu is soon to be over given how much was used. He says he may not be brilliant, but he realized that at least. Shikamaru seemingly looks at his limits. Anyway, he always has a plan. He planted many paper bombs around before releasing the immortal from the shadow, when he brought him to the woods. Shikamaru's mind never disappoints, or in any case, the story made for him, always ends up being great.

On the other side, Kakuzu dies for a little while, and Kakashi releases himself from the threads menacing his heart. But the three creatures are still out there and attempt to reach their master. Choji tries to crash them, but they escape with threads, and finally join Kakuzu. The lightning creature becomes his heart, while the wind and fire are used to attack. Now, everything looks bad again for them. Kakashi tells Choji and Ino to prepare, but in the last minute, Naruto and Yamato appear to save them, combining wind and water. The two of them, plus Sakura and Sai finally arrived. The battle continues as entertaining as always. It was known that Kakuzu wouldn't be defeated quickly. His five hearts must be crushed, and three remain. What would have happened if Naruto's team didn't arrive? Kakashi later will say that he would have been forced to use the Mangekyo Sharingan.
