Goofs

At approximately the 6 minute mark, Lucy and Jake are each holding a sassafras candy cane on opposite ends. As the scene progresses each cut shows the candy cane turning hook side up, hook side down and even the hook reversing directions in the actors hands multiple times. There are at least 9 continuity errors within 21 camera angle cuts which makes for a fun-to-watch scene.

Amber finds her mother's old analog camcorder. She connects it to her laptop and watches the footage played from the tape. There is no connection from the camera or port on a current laptop which would allow her to do this. Also, the footage is widescreen; the camcorder would have recorded standard 4:3.

At the beginning of movie, grandpa Walter is standing in the front of his car at the bus station. Wide shot shows a lot of green bushes and deciduous trees with yellow/orange/red leaves just a few days before Christmas in Connecticut which is obviously impossible. Few minutes later, Lucy drives her Range Rover to her father's home, and you can see a lot of beautiful green deciduous trees, bushes and plants with a bit of snow on sidewalks. Production didn't even bother to spray them with faux snow (only some). Around half of movie, plot takes place in downtown, and you can again see a lot of beautiful green deciduous trees - some were sprayed with faux snow, some not.

While building a snowman, Jake (Victor Webster) carries the middle section around like it weighs nothing. Impossible to do for the big size of the snowman that they are making.
