Elves

Except in this case the all the characters are so stupid and annoying that you're rooting for the elves to killed them all getting them slow and painful deaths.

I'm not sure how accurate the English translation is, but the parents, the Dad especially, is a complete a-hole. Mocking his own kids for every tiny emotion they have, asking his young teen son if he "slipped the tongue" to a young girl he just met, offering them pot brownies, undermining his wife at every turn... his son is not much better, and the wife is dismissive and just a terrible mom in general.

Trite, predictable, frustrating, and completely lacking in pay off. Highly suggest a hard pass.

Spoiled strong willed brat causes of death of multiple people because she feels has right to do anything she wants. First she kidnaps an elf child so she can have a pet because her parents wouldn't let her have a dog or a cat. Typical Z generation, doesn't care what the consequences she causes to others and acts if she's the victim because she can't have her pet. The elf child escapes and tries to return to her kind but the brat wants her pet back and kills an adult elf; again she feels the victim.

Interesting idea but the plot holes were a bit like chasms.

If you are guarding such a secret it seems silly to encourage tourists.

The biggest plot hole was what exactly were the Elves doing whilst the humans were constructing an electric fence around their wood?

The ending was predictable as were the actions of Josephine our 12 year old protagonist. But in reality no 12 year old girl anywhere is that stupid.

Elves: A Danish horror series, a family from Copenhagen go to a remote island for Christmas. This is no ordinary isle, the locals are keeping a secret, the local forest creatures , the Elves, are kept behind an electrified fence. Cattle are given as sacrifices to appease the wood dwellers. The tourists upset the balance when the tourist family daughter, Josefine, tries to adopt an injured infant Elf. The adult Elves are like burrow dwelling killer apes they bite out throats, feast on their human prey even while they still live. Quite dark and the horror level is certainly adult even if the intended audience is teenage. Reminiscent of The Wicker Man in parts but here the locals are unwelcoming and warn the family off from the start. Directed by Ron Ezra with Stefan Jaworski as head writer. Six 25 minute episodes on Netflix. 7/10.
