Duke of Windsor (formerly King Edward VIII) married Duchess of Windsor (Wallis Warfield) on 3 June 1937 at Château de Candé in Monts, France. Newsreel footage of the wedding appears in this film, which went on sale in America later that same year.
The third and final of three newsreel/documentary shorts edited by Eugene W. Castle in 1937 for release by the Pathé Film Corporation's revived 16mm home-movie label, Pathegrams. Up to that point, Castle's film distribution company, Castle Films, had primarily dealt in industrial and educational films. With the success of this brief partnership with Pathé on the home market, Castle launched his own home-movie production and distribution venture, specializing in one-reel films edited or adapted by Castle himself from existing materials. Castle Films became wildly successful in the 16mm and 8mm home-movie market, and remained a leading name in home entertainment for decades.
As seen in the film, Duke of Windsor (as the Prince of Wales) was honored with a ticker-tape parade down New York City's "Canyon of Heroes" on 18 November 1919, upon his visit to America following a tour of Canada.
