Reader's discretion is advised. -- In an apartment complex, Pang and Chanon rounds up on Korn and barges into his room which is located in the upper levels of the building. As they enter the room, Chanon locks the door and Pang lets go of Korn, who swiftly takes out his pocket knife and menacingly points it at Pang] 

  Pang : [calmly; to Korn]  Korn, take it easy. I just want to talk.

  Chanon Taweepong : [to Korn]  Pang can call the Ministry to haul your ass out, but he didn't. Trust me. Have a decent talk with him.

  Pang : Korn... Trust me. Put down the knife and let's talk.

  [Korn's face contort in mixed emotions] 

  Pang : All our friends are worried about you. Why did you do that? Why did you release the virus? The juniors are in bad shape.

  [Korn's brings his knife arm down and appears apparently repentant] 

  Pang : I know you didn't mean for it to happen. Who told you to do it? Were you intimidated? You can talk to me.

  Korn : [to Pang]  I didn't think it'd get this big.

  [Suddenly, Korn snickers and his repentant mien turns into a look of a deranged man] 

  Korn : [face contorted into a manic grin]  But when it did, I was very pleased. Nobody told me to do anything.

  Pang : [anguished]  Why did you do it?

  Korn : [insistent and with increasing rage; dangerously pointing his knife to Pang]  I effected a change! A true change that your way couldn't. Your way didn't change a thing.

  Pang : [raising his voice]  But we talked and agreed that it's the best way.

  Korn : The best way? What's so good about it? You took your friends to battle just to change the school rules? Are you insane, Pang? You know well what the problem is. The problem is the Gifted Program.

  Pang : [indignant]  Two years ago, when I proposed that everyone's potentials be removed, you didn't agree with me. You didn't step out to support me!

  Korn : I didn't agree because it'd do nothing to help. Potentials removed? What does that change? I joined your cause because I thought you had a bigger aim. But, boy, I was wrong. Were you afraid your friends wouldn't love you? Did you drop your aim to please them?

  Pang : It's not about wanting to please anyone, but I figured out that the problem is not the Gifted Program. Did you forget our ideal? A good society isn't one without the Gifted, but one where the Gifted and the ordinary exist together happily!

  Korn : [bursting out]  BUT I'M NOT HAPPY! Ordinary kids are victims of the Gifted! They are experimented on! They are expelled! They get hurt because of the Gifted Program! Where are they in your ideal society? Am I and are they not worthy of your attention?

  Pang : [beat] 

  Korn : Do you know, Pang, how bad I feel to have this insane potential? Shouldn't adults make us ordinary kids? We should live happily, not being turned into freaks.

  Pang : Korn, I completely get what you said, but how could what you did fix anything?

  Korn : It will. I make the Gifted Program more dangerous. I make it more destructive! The adults will have to get rid of the Gifted Program. This is a change, Pang. A TRUE HERO WILL DO WHAT I DO!

  [Pang's phone rings. When he turns it on, he sees a text message from Claire: "Pang, Ms. Darin is coming to get Korn."] 

  Pang : [in shock; to Chanon]  Ms. Darin is coming here.

  Korn : [in apprehension; to Pang]  Did you call her here to arrest me?

  Pang : [to Korn]  I didn't!

  [to Chanon] 

  Pang : Did you tell her, Chanon?

  Chanon Taweepong : I've been with you all along! Did you see me talking to anyone?

  [Chanon rushes to the backdoor balcony. Just in time, he sees from above a black van pull over. Ms. Darin and men in black suits disembark the vehicle and enter the apartment complex] 

  Chanon Taweepong : Pang, Darin is downstairs.

  [Chanon checks his watch] 

  Chanon Taweepong : It'll take her five minutes to come up here.

  Pang : [pleading; to Korn]  Korn, come back to the school with me.

  Korn : For you to turn me in to the Director?

  Pang : I promise I will protect you.

  Korn : What will you do? How will you protect me?

  Chanon Taweepong : Four minutes...

  Pang : [confused]  First of all, you need to confess to the Director that you didn't think it through.

  [Korn is in great anguish, pulling his hair out] 

  Pang : And our friends and I will set everyone straight about the pain you felt. And you will be forgiven.

  [Korn stops at the word "forgiven" and looks at Pang with maddened eyes] 

  Korn : Forgiven?

  [bursting out once again] 

  Korn : I've never wanted to be forgiven! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG! I DID WHAT I HAD TO DO!

  Pang : [with genuine concern]  How long have you had this vicious thought?

  Korn : Why? Why? Now you've started to care about me? IT MUST TAKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR YOU TO TAKE CARE ABOUT ME, HUH?

  [Pang is floored. Chanon goes back to Pang] 

  Chanon Taweepong : Pang, we must go.

  Pang : [to Korn]  You will not get away with this. Since you won't let me help, there's nothing I can do. I'll wait here until Ms. Darin comes to get you.

  Chanon Taweepong : [grabs Pang by his school uniform]  Pang, you can't do this! If they see you with Korn, you'll be framed as an accomplice. Don't forget they're out to get you too.

  Korn : [to Pang and Chanon]  This is how it ends.

  [Pang and Chanon turns back to Korn but he is not beside them anymore. To their shock, Korn is standing on the parapet of the backdoor balcony, facing them. He drinks the last drops of the Nyx-88 sample from Ms. Darin's vial] 

  Korn : Hear my words: the Gifted Program is evil.

  [Korn lets himself fall from the parapet] 

  Pang : [rushes to the balcony]  KORN!

  [Pang reaches the balcony, but he is too late. He witnesses Korn falling many stories down to his death]
