Sex & Nudity

  • Pornographic pop up ads appear on computers rarely, no nudity or sex shown just provocative photos of scantily clad women. Prostitutes can be seen on the streets making suggestive comments nothing graphic moreso implied than anything no sex in this game.
  • Jensen and Malik occasionally flirt in the game.
  • The game contains infrequent sex references.
  • Some missions contain sexual material, dialogue with prostitutes include "They want me to get augmentations, for the customer's pleasure," "We can find a quiet spot" and "Do you have enough money for me, sexy?"
  • A motion comic included with the game contains the dialogue, "You whacking off over those bitches again?", as a guard talks to a colleague who appears to be lying down but who has actually been shot.
  • There is a level in which Jensen visits a brothel, he agrees to help one of the prostitutes who complains that the girls are being pressured into getting 'augmented' purely for the pleasure of their clients; sex toys are also seen around the brothel.
  • Some women dress suggestively, but there is no nudity in the game.
  • One area has a woman pole dancing, she is dressed in a seductive leather outfit.
  • In different parts of the game, there are pictures hanging of seductive looking women.

Violence & Gore

  • Infrequent graphic violence
  • Players use pistols, shotguns, assault rifles, and explosives to kill a variety of human enemies (e.g., soldiers, police officers, gang members, drug dealers).
  • Players can also use stealth attacks (e.g., choking, electrocution) to dispatch enemies at close range.
  • Firefights are highlighted by screams of pain, realistic gunfire, explosions, and large sprays of blood that stain the surrounding environment.
  • Players can sometimes make choices that result in the death of innocent characters: during one sequence, an injured man asks to be put out of his misery, the main character can then administer a morphine overdose.
  • Civilians can also be killed directly, though this may negatively affect players' progress.
  • Although blood sprays from enemies when they're shot, it isn't possible to dismember enemies, whether they're dead or alive.
  • It is possible to shoot enemies after death but, although blood is shown spraying out, there is no injury detail of any kind.
  • Certain special moves can be triggered in which Jensen stabs enemies with retractable blades, but again there is little dwelling on the injuries inflicted.
  • Players can use fallen bodies as a shield, but the choice is up to the gamer whether they want to play the game like a shooter or not.
  • Adam can also sneak up behind people and do stealth kills or stealth takedowns, when this happens a short scene is shown of Adam taking the person down from a third person perspective.
  • The game rewards the player for committing non-lethal takedowns with higher experience points.
  • The final battle does require having to shoot people that are strapped and plugged into a supercomputer.
  • One cutscene shows a man killing himself by shooting his brains out which you actually watch. Later in the game, you encounter his body in the morgue and can again see the wound on his head.

Profanity

  • Language is used moderately throughout the game with words including D**n, A**, B***h, G**D**n, and S**t. More rarely, you may hear the word F**k used in dialogue; although the main character does not swear often, he does on occasion and says words such as bulls**t, GodD**n, and other minor words.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The opening scene in the game has your boss lighting and smoking a cigarette.
  • As the game progresses, alcoholic beverages (e.g., beer, vodka, cocktails) can be purchased and consumed to reduce damage, resulting in a screen-blurring effect.
  • In one mission, players can plant illegal drugs in a character's residence; marijuana products (i.e., cigaweed) are occasionally referenced in the dialogue.
  • There are drug dealers in the game and references to "weed" (marijuana).

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The game is heavy on stealth so incredibly instense depending on your play style.
  • Some firefights can be quite intense, especially on harder difficulties.
  • Players can use fallen bodies as a shield.
  • One cutscene shows a man killing himself by shooting his brains out which you actually watch.
  • An injured man asks to be put out of his misery, the main character can then administer a morphine overdose.
