Jack and the Beanstalk: After Ever After
Prismark101 January 2021
David Walliams writes and stars as the Giant. A continuation of the Jack and the Beanstalk story.

The Giant did not die but was mildly concussed and ends up befriending young Jack.

Jack is still a bit thick and gets fleeced from the trader in the market again.

This time Jack has bought a magic sausage roll as he needs to send the Giant back to where he came from. However the notorious giant killer, The Woman with No Name has the Giant in her sight.

In the panto tradition, this is aimed at kids who would enjoy the silliness and Walliams includes a moral message in there as well.

Poorly done, pointless re-imagining...

I found this to be really bad. Poorly written, badly acted, and with some awful prosthetics and special effects. The 'giant' was obviously a stilt walker which must have been done to cut costs. Goodness knows what persuaded Sheridan Smith to appear in this puerile rubbish...

A box ticking version of the old story. Special effects were poor and unconvincing. Looked like the whole thing was done in a hurry

Very funny

It's by no mistake that David Walliams is popular with kids. He's speaks to them and offers silly humour that they adore. My little girl loved this movie and being honest I really laughed a lot myself. Yes it's very stupid and there is some wooden acting (Jacks Mum in particular) but kids love it and that's all that really counts.

Sorry but I found parts of this quite nauseating and OTT bad taste. Bring back the old style pantomimes

I'm 24 and I laughed the whole way through this.

A lovely, lighthearted, little story to watch with your family. It's only 45 minutes; a nice change from big budget films that drain your concentration. Enjoyed the acting and characters, well done David Williams!

Great storytelling, Walliams' humour, charming Jack and Sheridan Smith. What more can you ask for?
