Another sumptuous episode and the second one already shows cracks in Guy's and Harriet relationship.

The ever gregarious Guy has a lots going on. Ever helping out people in need. Then there is the political situation in Romania. An atmosphere exists where the Nazi invasion is imminent.

Harriet feels lonely and this allows other men to make a move on her. There is a scene where Harriet is concerned about Guy's whereabouts and it turns out that he went off to the cinema.

Harriet mood does not improve when Prince Yakimov looks after their flat as Guy whisks her off to a weekend in the mountains.

Yakimov eats like a pig and loses Harriet's cat. Darkening her mood once more.

There are nice scenes when Paris falling to the Nazis is intercut with the stage production of Troilus and Cressida. The play was put on by Guy with the British ex pats.

At the time of broadcast I would not have realised that the Branagh would be in his element with Shakespeare. It was unrealistic, everyone acted it so well and they were meant to be amateurs!
