When Arthur becomes besotted with a mysterious girl, he stands to lose more than just his heart.

Arthur rescues the elderly Aulfric and his pretty daughter Sophia from being robbed and welcomes them at Camelot. Indeed Arthur falls in love with Sophia and they plan to elope. Morgana is very worried as she has had a recurring dream in which Sophia drowns Arthur. She confides in Gaius and Merlin, who realize that she is a potential sorceress with the power of prophecy. Merlin follows Aulfric to a lake, where he discovers that the father and daughter are Sidhes, former immortals who, having lost their immortality, must kill Arthur to regain their powers. When Sophia and Arthur elope, Merlin follows them.—don @ minifie-1

With suspicious ease, Arthur saves old Aulfric and his daughter Sophie from a hidden robber. An immediate romantic interest arises, for which Merlin repeatedly takes the blame - paying penance in the stocks - so Arthur can sneak out with her. The heir to Camelot's throne is actually under enchantment by these foreigners, who are in fact Sidhe, a race of evil elves who want to enslave Arthur's soul as price for the passage through the magical gates of Avalon. When Arthur proposes to Sophie, Gaius suspects the schemers and finds proof, confirming Morgana's nightmares about Sophie barely in time to urge Merlin to go save Arthur (which proves a daunting task with dubious rewards).—KGF Vissers
