- The team go after the distribution hub for the Butterflies' nutrient. While Chris bonds with his teammates and Amelia warms to the others, Clemson brings in an old friend to keep the police from discovering that Auggie wasn't the one who killed Annie.—Gislef
- In his trailer, Chris is pouring an egg into a glass to drink, and Eagly caws at him. After drinking the egg, Chris pours some of the goop into the Butterfly's jar so it can drink. Chris goes out on his porch and Eagly joins him, and then the eagle flies off. It finds and kills a possum, and drops it in front of him. Despite the gesture, Chris tells Eagly that he's not going to eat it and tells his pet that he can have it.
At her motel room, there's a knock at Leota's door. She answers it and finds Keeya there. Keeya comes in and asks her wife if she's avoiding her calls, and Leota says that she isn't but says that she to go to work. Her wife asks if Leota is in danger, and Leota says that she isn't. Keeya thanks Leota for going to work with the team when they both lost their jobs, but points out that Leota is choosing the black ops work. Leota says that she isn't, kisses Keeya on the cheek, and leaves.
When she pulls up to the video store, Leota checks her phone and finds a text from Amanda asking if she's planted the diary yet. She texts back that she hasn't yet and goes inside.
Clemson briefs the team on the death of a CEO and a pop singer who both died in a plane crash. The autopsy discovered that both of them had extraterrestrial bugs in their skulls. That's when the government first became aware of the Butterflies. Since then they've found the Butterflies in the heads of several high-profile celebrities. Clemson explains that the Butterfly interacts with its host, giving it heightened strength and endurance. The amber goop has been found around all the dead Butterflies, and it seems to be the aliens' only food source. The key card Leota found for the Glan Tai Bottling Company was also where Annie was employed.
Chris takes offense at John putting Auggie in prison, and John admits that he couldn't think of anyone else. When Chris rattles off a list of names, John finally says that the next time he has to frame someone, he'll pick one of the people Chris mentioned. Clemson interrupts to say that everyone else is going to Glan Tai while he stays and deals with the White Dragon situation.
In prison, Song and Fitzgibbon visit Auggie when he calls them in. Fitzgibbon points out that they have two eyewitnesses who say that Auggie kidnapped them, and Song asks Auggie who did everything he's accused of, and Auggie tells her that Chris did.
Once they're alone, Leota tell Chris that he hurt John's feelings. Adrian comes in and notes that being a bully is part of Chris's personality.
Soong has Auggie's fingerprints taken and has them sent directly to her phone.
Amelia drives the team in the van to Glan Tai, and she points out that whenever someone investigates the Butterflies, someone higher up in the government shuts them. That's why Amanda is using Task Force X to conduct her own investigation. Chris figures that it's deep state, and Amelia insists that it isn't at first. She finally admits that it kind of is. John and Chris bond over the glam rock band Hanoi Rock, and the van pulls up to Glan Tai.
Clemson is in his motel room when there's a tap at his window. It's Captain Locke, Clemson's contact, and Clemson lets Locke in. He says that the situation requires subtlety, and Locke says that he'll take care of Clemson.
Song get the fingerprints back and confirms that they belong to Chris, not Auggie. She and Fitzgibbon go to talk to the witnesses, Evan and Amber, at the couple's apartment. Song glares at Evan, and he quickly cracks and says that they threatened the couple to lie. The detectives talk to the couple and Evan identifies Chris as their intruder. Amber claims that it wasn't, and Evan figures that since Auggie is a Nazi, it's okay that he's in prison. The detectives leave, and Song figures they have to release Auggie and arrest Chris.
At Glan Tai, Chris grabs a rifle and Vigilante grabs a chainsaw. Amelia tells Vigilante that he's not taking the chainsaw in, and Vigilante reluctantly gives in. Leota and Chris go to question the employees in the front office, while Amelia and Vigilante sneak in the back. Chris and Leota go in, and Chris activates the x-ray vision on his helmet. He immediately blows away everyone's heads when he sees that their Butterfly-possessed.
John is monitoring the team from the van, and Leota tells him over the comms that the place is crawling with Butterflies.
Vigilante and Amelia sneak in the back and cut open a box, and find bottles of the nutrient. Amelia figures it's the distribution hub for the whole country, and she and Vigilante spot a guard making a superhuman leap. Chris continues gunning down guards, and Leota not-so-helpfully shoots them when they're down.
Amelia and Vigilante finds the central processing room, and a worker sees them and screeches. The other workers come after them, and they go through a gate door and lock it behind them. As they run, the workers break through the metal. The duo duck into some kind of computer room and lock the door behind them. Ass the Butterflies start breaking through, Chris and Leota head there. Chris guns down one Butterfly, who says that the others are with Charlie and they won't last long.
As Amelia checks the computer, the Butterflies break down the door. Charlie, a gorilla, confronts Amelia and Vigilante and knocks them flying. Meanwhile, Leota and Chris find the door the Butterflies are breaking through, and Chris takes out a Russian tank shell that he's attached a grenade to. He throws it at the Butterflies, and then it blows up.
John sees the blast on the monitors and tries to raise the others without success.
Chris and Leota go back, and go into the computer room. Leota goes first and Charlie knocks her down. When Chris runs in, Charlie grabs his gun out of his hands and kicks him back. Amelia shoots at Charlie, who throws a metal case at her. Leota and Vigilante attack Charlie, and then Chris grabs Charlie from behind. The gorilla throw him on the floor, and then John arrives with Vigilante's chainsaw and cuts Charlie in half vertically. Chris is impressed and calls John a stud.
In high spirits, Leota drives the team off. Even Amelia admits that they weren't bad and smiles, then takes photos on her phone.
At the prison, a guard tells Song that Auggie is going back to the prison because they got his fingerprints back from the lab and they match the ones at the crime scene. Song goes back to the station and asks her captain what's going on, and discovers that it's Locke. He says that he's replacing the former captain because the mayor wasn't impressed with her performance, and says that she saw the prints and they didn't match Auggie's. She points out that the witnesses identified Chris, and Locke says that Augie's men coerced the couple into changing their testimony. Locke tells Song to take the rest of the night off, makes it clear it isn't a request, and Song leaves in disgust as Locke makes a call.
At the video store, Clemson gets Locke's call that it's done. The others pull up outside, and they tell Clemson what happened. Clemson congratulates them and says they'll have to sort through the Glan Tai files and see what they can find, and find where the nutrient came from. He tells them to get some rest and they leave.
Song and Fitzgibbon go to see a judge Song know, and she figures they'll have to go over Locke's head. The judge, William Judy, is also her uncle. Judy answers the door and Song asks him for a search warrant. When Song mentions Chris, Judy invites them in.
At the bar, Amelia adds Chris to a Chat group named after Hanoi Rocks' song. She adds the others as well, and send them a photo of the team. Chris sends back a text saying it's cool, and Amelia smiles. Leota drives Chris home, and he invites Leota to come in and grab a drink. She goes in and Chris makes drinks, and she sees a photo of Young Chris and his brother Keith. Neither she nor Chris can stand Chris' drink, so they have beers
They talk about how Chris figures Amelia digs him. Leota advises Chris to be nice to Amelia and maybe she'll come around, and tells him that he just is a dick to push people away. She suggests that if he drop that and be himself, people might actually like him. Chris admits that he's never had a teammate giving him advice and having his back before, and says they were like a real team. He starts to cry and goes to the bathroom, and Leota plants the fake diary.
Later, Leota drives home store and calls Keeya. She leaves a message that she's sorry about that morning and the job is messing her up. She says that she loves Keeya and will talk to her the next day.
Going to the store instead, Leota comes in and finds Clemson working at his desk. She tells him that she couldn't sleep, picks up Chris' x-ray helmet, and casually puts it on. She sees Clemson with a Butterfly in his head, and he chases her out onto the street. He throws her down and lunges at her.
