Keontae gets introduced. He is in therapy with Laura, his counselor, and quickly summarizes his coming out to his parents (with full melodramatics from his mother) and what brought him to where he is now. Keontae talks about his two closest friends Amin and Blake. He tells his therapist of two awkward dates, including one with a racist.

Blake tells Keontae and Amin how he met Carl and the audience judges whether or not his story is true. (You already know it's not.) The guys have a chat with Amin's pro-Black Afrophile mother, Cleopatra, who gives them some history about Africa and teaches them African words. She means well, but nothing she says is accurate, including why Amin is named Amin. A woman in her own world, that one. Finally, scenes showing life for Blake with Carl, Keontae on a date with someone from Amin's past, and something tragic happens to Amin.
