Michael returns home and hides in the shadows
Johneagleusa1 November 2021
While not perfect, "Halloween Prodigal Son" is a wonderful fan sequel in the HALLOWEEN series.

"HPS" has a great opening scene and an action packed climax, thanks to David Loomis (Miguel Dias) there´s room for a sequel here, and i really would like to see what´s coming next, so i hope a sequel his announced sooner than later.

The performances are really strong and the film has some suspenseful moments.

8 out of 10, entertaining, jumpy moments.

Good Fun Slasher
theoriginalpunisher31 October 2021
For me this one was better than Halloween Kills, loved the kills on this one, we don´t need lots of blood to prove that a movie is good, the investigation scenes were the best.

There´s a connection with the thorn cult in this, wich i found that was cool.

The camera work is good and the direction seems a little different than i was expecting, but it surprised me on some angles.

It's still fun and always fun to see fan films like this when Halloween season comes.

8/10.

Son of Loomis goes against Myers
deansavior1 November 2021
It´s a showdown between Myers and David Loomis, and it´s great, lots of bullets this time for him to fall.

The director decided to ignore the previous sequels and refer directly to the original story. In the film, I did not notice stupid illogicalities typical of this genre, which pleasantly surprised me. The movie lasts less than an hour.

The simple and effective story, well-balanced pace and duration, great atmosphere and, of course, the legendary tune that makes us shiver for decades. Recommendation.

7/10.

I saw this yesterday for the first time and it was really good I really liked it. Pacing was great. Michael Myers is back and now you got the son of doctor Loomis to continue his legacy to track down and hunt Michael.

This movie has lot of suspense. Ending is amazing.

Mindless fun
davidsilvera-508191 November 2021
There's real human drama at play here which makes the horror elements pop when they show up. There are too many jump scares and the film looks like a Halloween film in the visual sense, but it's got a stronger script than most of the other ones and the finale is incredibly satisfying.

Go ahead and watch it.

Heck Yeah!
finksteve2 November 2021
Well, what a surprise... I actually LIKED this one.

Director Rui Constantino takes cues from the first film and returns "Halloween" to its roots, in the process creating a much better flowing and entertaining movie than any of the situations that occurred in the other movies. Also, this movie sets a precedent by introducing actually realistic characters (not all, but most of them) that aren't entirely stupid and that you care about whether they die or not! This results in a more tightly structured thriller that actually entertains, rather than merely leading cattle to slaughter. And if you're the type to pay attention to such things, it already has a gripping storyline.

I going to give this movie 8 out 10.

Pretty good effort overall...
erichasand2 November 2021
The first half of the film sets up the new character David Loomis, while we jump back and forth observing Michael on his journey to the confrontation.

The kills strike hard, the suspense is ramped up, and then it's a frenetic action based finale capped off by a coup de grace of some distinction. All in all it's just a very good and proper Halloween/Myers movie.

Back to the basics with a new character.
brooksam-995291 November 2021
It's well acted, very well paced, and entertaining from start to finish. It's also nice to see the hunted become the hunter.

The real appeal of this sequel is seeing David Loomis the son of the late doctor Loomis, make his appearance, to take revenge on Michael and that was top notch, just wanted to see more of this character, i have a feeling he will be back.

One of the best. 8/10.

Solid Halloween Movie
billydrago-928491 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love the Halloween movies!

I like this movie a lot. Its right on par with Halloween 2. Both are solid movies.

The opening sequence was the perfect introduction, with the two guys being killed and with Michael getting the mask again.

The theme song was kept Intact and more intense, it's more fast paced, A perfect slasher movie, theres some jump scares, than before, and i dig that.

What a load of... you know what!
What a load of rubbish, cheap, tacky, bad the list goes on. The reason this gets a 7.5 on IMDb and a load of great reviews is (and I guarantee) because the reviewers had some had in making this garbage. I'd rather watch big brother than this muck and I can't stand big brother! Not even worth the time if your bored and have time to kill, because you'd be wasting your life with time you won't get back. I wouldn't even make my worse enemy watch this!

The Shape Returns in Full Form.
carlyjones-669471 November 2021
Myers is back creeping into houses, stabbing merrily. The constant feeling of dread, pursuit in the dark, he goes all the way for new victims.

The kills are slightly better in this one, and has a much higher body count.

Comparing this low budget with the new HK, i can see that these guys really cared about the halloween franchise, and did what they couldn´t do, tell a good story, bring new characters in, and build the story around David Loomis character and his quest to avenge his father i thought that was so cool.

I didn´t even knew that doctor Loomis had a son, but after some investigation, i discovered he did, so i´m really happy about this, since i love this franchise, hope they can continue in this story for future sequels.

8/10.

Good and effective
josegustavinho2 November 2021
The storyline was modern but yet paid homage to the original. The scares, the gore, the stupid decisions, it all came together to make one killer movie.

You (seriously) can't kill the bogeyman!

Loomis vs Myers - the next generation
AlSanders812 November 2021
We are finaly introduced to David Loomis, as he take an head on revenge for the death of his father! Miguel D. Dias gave us a dark and driven David as he continues his father's work and hunts down Michael.

Both Steve Kyle and Pedro Pinecross gave us a more violent Michael as he slashes and hacks away at his victims!

A great hack and slash Halloween short movie! Another win for Rui Constantino's team!

The Nightmare Isn't Over
ryanstolter5 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The story begins when David Loomis is watching some videotapes of his father, as he craves for revenge, because he knows Michael is alive and will attack Haddonfield again, and so it is, the rampage begins, and it´s a mayhem of violence and blood, with bodies all over the place.

We do see more of Myers than ever before, but there are still great sequences where we see things from his perspective.

The cast does praiseworthy work, and is good entertainment.

Full vengeance on Michael Myers
anapires43199931 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Halloween goes Jason mode, killing everyone in this short movie, he starts when he escapes the mental hospital and then the killing start and never slow down.

The characters were good, the kills themselves are good.

Watch it, it's cheesy but great.

Michael owns Haddonfield
teresacristovaoxavier6 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The first "Halloween" from 1978 sort of formed and established the modern slasher-genre. This movie expands this even more by featuring some of the more commonly known modern slasher elements in it. Bascily it's a movie about a killer maniac who is on a killing spree.

Everybody knows the curse of Myers, and they want to end it, but it´s not an easy task, so they leave it for the son of doctor Loomis, David.

At this rate Michael will wipe out the entire town before the next Halloween.

David tries to kill him, but fails, only to swear once again revenge.

The terror continues...
profatompalmer4 November 2021
Halloween isn't over...at least for Michael, in this short movie the killing start again, but this time someone is waiting for him, the son of doutor Loomis, i liked this character a lot, just wished he was more in the movie, because i think he adds so much to this, well maybe on sequel they can do that.

This film is a strong follow-up. It's consistent, it follows continuity, the blood is upped a bit.

As far as sequels go, it's pretty strong.

A worthy sequel
johnrage-156532 November 2021
It's a great movie, lots of suspense, drama and it was scary too, the body count is big and loved that.

It got me right in the opening scene and I was gripping the edge of my seat all through the movie! (The fact that I see some horror movies by myself may have something to do with it!) However, the best part of the film is its ending.

This short movie deserves a lot of respect, Rui Constantino shows precise technique in his directing and this precision allows for a very focused movie. It is easy to follow and enjoy.

Also notable are the characters themselves. Every move that is made is intelligent and what a "real" person would probably do in a terrifying situation.

A great movie and I give it an 9 of 10.

An okay sequel!
luciabecas3 November 2021
This film is much more brutal, more spooky and more Michael Myers.

I did quite enjoy this film but it certainly wasn't the best I've seen.

Overall I think the movie is a worthy sequel.

A solid slasher.
timdugans6 November 2021
It's surprising how good this film is.

The question you'll be asking, what is Michael Myers now, he was shot, blown up, he's clearly not a man anymore. Anyway, he's back, and that's a good thing.

He leaves the sanatorium and he is unleashed in Haddonfield again, and the killing spree starts again.

It's well paced, menacing, if features some nice references to the past.

The central concept of Myers as a pure personification of relentless and dangerous unthinking evil gets handled with commendable sincerity and seriousness by the filmmaker.

David Loomis the son of dr. Loomis tracks the masked killer once again as his father did, following a trail of corpses, to a final conflict.

The story has moved on to another level and leaves the fans hankering for more. 8/10.

Scariest Halloween movie
vanessamatosking7 November 2021
This was without a doubt the scariest Halloween movie, Michael was straight vicious in this movie.

The film is dark and scarier, and is so good. If you are a Michael Myers fan, and know the background, then this movie is for you.

Myers slashing but David Loomis is hunting him this time.
antoniomarcelo8 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The script is good, the dialogue is good, the music is good, the characters are likable, good camera work, and it just felt more realistic.

Everything makes perfect sense in this film, we´ve got David Loomis tracking down Michael following the foosteps of his father, we´ve got Mayor Owens who only wants the town to be safe from Michael, and Sheriff Reed.

I was so happy with the ending, but i hope there´s more to come.

Well done!!

Return to form, thankfully.
martinclaydie4 November 2021
The editing is coherent, it's not shot too darkly and there is an eeriness to the setting which can be properly appreciated as a result. The music is a welcome return to being an asset than a drawback.

Luckily there's nowhere near as much unintentional camp, out of place humour or bizarre subplots or idea that muddle the story. Instead much of the film is fun and there is a tension, creepiness and suspense, even poignancy at times, that the previous sequels were sorely lacking in.

The deaths are the most creative and shocking since those in the original, while the opening scene is unsettlingly tense and the ending is creepy and touching.

Although the characters are underdeveloped, none of them are annoying and they do have enough personality to stop them from being too dull. The direction is in control of the material and is at least competent and often well above that, especially in the second half when the film really does come alive.

7/10.

The Return We Needed.
Richardtune13 November 2021
To my surprise it was a better movie then i expected it to be.

I liked the pacing of this movie. I think director did a very solid job, because at running time 55 minutes, this movie barely dragged and was involving till the end.

A solid film.
