The two first names Assane gives Fabienne (Guillaume Berlat and Jean Daspry) are both well know pseudonyms of Arsène Lupin.
Fabienne Beriot names her dog "J'accuse" (I accuse, in English). This is the title of Emil Zola's famous open letter, published in 1898, in which the French writer takes a stand on the Dreyfus affair, a case of miscarriage of justice, that led to Alfred Dreyfus' lifelong sentence for espionage.
The central character of the series fights to uncover his father's case of mistrial.
Assane and Raoul are seen playing a video game. This game is Horizon Zero Dawn (2017) for the PS4. Despite the scene suggesting that they are playing the game together, Horizon Zero Dawn does not have any multiplayer features.
Pellegrini's mansion exterior shots were filmed at the Nissim Camondo Museum near Parc Monceau in Paris's 17th arrondissement. The Camondos were an extremely wealthy family who amassed a banking fortune in Spain, Italy, and Paris dating back to the 1500s. A branch of the family settled in Paris and lived in the Parc Monceau mansion in the 1800s and early 1900s. When the Nazis occupied Paris, the entire family was arrested, deported to Auschwitz, and murdered. The mansion is now a public museum that remains almost unchanged since the family's deportation in 1944.
The series suggests Assane was born in 1981, given he was 14 in 1995.
