So cute and great chemistry
eangeleyesr12 August 2021
A lovely tale on tea and besides the standard harlequin plot it also was a tale of lost lives, loves and regrets. The main characters have great chemistry. The supporting actors and actresses are solid and quite funny. The actor who plays Nigel has a terrific voice. He really made this film more interesting. Grab a bag of popcorn and, if needed, some tissues, and enjoy!

Tired but...
tommy567716 February 2022
It's the same old tired formula. City girl goes home to small town. Said small town hunk just waiting for Miss Right. This guy has muscles on his muscles but will he take his shirt off? My only suggestions are to lose the skinny jeans and the scruff. It's not your look.

She is certainly one of more attractive romcom women I've seen. Yes it's true. Not all of the male female leads can cut the universally hot mustard but these two pull it off nicely.

I wanted to see more compelling conflict to propel the story forward. The lack of that here made this movie just a little too slow moving and schmaltzy. Though it wasn't over the top sappy it could have easily gone there. The sexual tension is maddening though. Just kiss her already, for godsakes.

This one makes the pass list but barely. Redeeming qualities are sound, lighting, acting, production values. Other aspects are weak.

Lovely

I so enjoyed this movie. OK storyline is not unusual but the leads had great chemistry and the whole thing was enjoyable. I was smiling all the way through. Give these actors more projects together. They work!

Excellent; Ms Chamberlin is awesome but needs diction lessons.

Beautiful story, scenery, photography. Original plot is charming. Ms. Chamberlin and entire cast are great actors, but she nasally mumbles most her lines, often to the point of being incomprehensible. All the others speak perfectly throughout. She makes up for this with charm, timing, intelligence, and spot-on acting. Love the story and setting. Love Ms. Chamberlin and all cast. Great for watching with your sweetheart.

Beautiful movie and soundtrack

This lovely movie has an excellent, totally fitting soundtrack, completing the really feel-good and calming mood. Especially since the solitude of pandemic lockdown, I really enjoy these small cast, low key films. There is still plenty of plot including a gentle mystery in the backstory which is gradually revealed. With wholesome content and a good age range of adults, everyone can watch. Also it is great to see Jay Ryan twenty years on from playing Jack Scully in Aussie soap Neighbours. New Zealand-based production company Incendo is producing some excellent movies, another being A Love Yarn.

There is something special and magic

It is classified as a romantic comedy, and it is. But there is something special and magic. The leading actors have the ability to give a romantic comedy that right dose of freshness to turn it into something different from all the others. It is really very lovely.

Happy Complications
otisarea22 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Lara, the main character, lives in a big city, like New York, or maybe Toronto, and is notified that her Aunt who owns a tea shop has passed away. This requires Lara to return to her hometown, to deal with her Aunt's final affairs, including what to do with the tea shop.

When she gets there, one of the first people she runs into is an old boyfriend from her youth. Her initial plan is to sell the tea shop and get on with her life in the big city. When she arrives and reacquaints herself with the town and its people she has second thoughts, it being more a more complicated decision than she initially expected.

It starts out as a fairly predictable story, but like life, becomes more complicated, than initial impressions. It seemed like the writers did a good job in coming up with some real life types of situations, without things becoming too heavy, to be depressing.

I also thought all the actors did a good job in being believable in their parts, even if things changed for the characters after the movie ends. The actors seemed to be able to relate to the characters they were playing.

At the end, I felt happy about the way things ended for the characters, hence liked the movie, giving it a high score.
